Sarphatipark is small park located in south Amsterdam and off the main tourist circuit. It's a fine park, very walkable with many walkways, plants, trees, greenery and perfect for a picnic in summer and best of all, it large enough to explore and enjoy without the crowds in Vondelpark.
Not a must-see, but good to visit if in the area.

We went into the area biking to Albert Cuyp market, so Sarphatipark was convenient to explore. It is a small park with enough going on to check out, but I found Vondelpark much better. They probably don't compare well due to size differences. The park would and did do for a quick dessert munch picnic , needed carbs for riding. Not a must see, but we were there. There seems to be a circle of good coffeeshops around the park, just sayin.

This lovely little city park is nestled inside De Pijp area, just South of The Albert Cyup Street Market. This market is very busy and to escape the noise and people, just walk a couple blocks South and enjoy some inner-city serenity at this quaint park. With running/walking paths, ponds, graceful trees and plenty of swans, this park is great for summer picnics and winter walks.

Walked through this park on a sunny Saturday in March but I got the feeling that the park was not as good taken care of as it used to be. Too much garbage laying about. A real shame because it is such a nice park in a very busy area.

Small park in an old Amsterdam neighborhood named after Sam Sarphati a dynamic 19th century citizen who made an outstanding contribution (social welfare, public health) to the city. A small monument with his bust is in the middle of the park.
Nice to have a walk, sit on the grass or on a bench. At night there is gay cruising.
Piet Mondriaan lived and worked at Sarphatipark 42 until 1911 before he left to Paris and later New York.

I stayed in a hotel just round the corner from this little Gem. Was going to go to Vondelpark but someone recommended this one. There is a park/play area for children, a lovely lake with ducks and herons, dog walkers, joggers, the old and the young. I spent a couple of afternoons reading my kindle, people watching and relaxing in this safe environment. I even bought an icecream from a vendor on a bicycle. It wasn't very touristy and I got a sense of everyday life in Amsterdam.

Visited this park when there was so much green in the eyes, really loved it this period. You can buy some local food from the flee market Albert Cuypmarkt and have a nice picnic time in the park.

After a visit to the Albert Cuyp Market it was a pleasure to visit the park to relax. A green oasis where you can sit and observe the surrounding features. Plenty of people sitting on the lawns, lots of ducks on the water and plenty of dogs. There is a gratis station where you can get a ground sheet if you don't want to sit or lay directly on the grass. Walking tracks are in abundance and of cause plenty of seating available. Great area for photos.

After walking around in the busiest market of amsterdam "Albert Cuyp", it's really fine to take a sit in this park. Sarphatipark is just 150m south of Albert Cuyp, an english landscape style park, quite small and surrounded by houses but you can still sit here nice and quietly. It's a park that has everything a park should have. Different kind of trees or shrubs, foothpath, playground for the children, benches, bridges, fountain ( not working in the winter), a pond that the water always be refreshed once a while by the work of a pumping-engine, even a public lavatory that will be opened automatically within 20 minutes when it is occupied. In the middle of the park there is a monument of the initiator of the park, dr.Samuel Sharpati.

The park is closer to market, not very big to walk around it compared to Vondelpark ,however if you close by its okay to pop by
