I’ve been to the AFAS venue two times already. Once in March 2019 and the last time on January 21st. I must say I loved the fact that the venue isn’t too big, giving a warmer and more intimate feeling if you will. I was in front of the stage both times and absolutely loved it!
Also, the sound quality is great!

1st time at this venue for a concert. Next to train station so very easily accessible. Quick entry into the arena with good security checks. Small and intimate but an amazing atmosphere. Good choice of food and drink.

This venue has an excellent sound system, probably the best in the Netherlands. All facilities are as they should be. Free, not too busy toilets, and most concerts there are free cloackrooms.
For drinks, they have their own coin system:
10€ for 7 coins, normal beer (0.35L) costs 3 coins, large beer (0.50L) costs 4 coins.
At the end of a concert you can get a refund for unused coins.

Seriously your policy sucks.
It is like in"fear and loathing in Las Vegas" the only not allowed drug is weed, because if you're stoned and you drink less. There was people snoring coke everywhere, people taking MDMA even in the line for security controls, there were kids around 13 totally drunk, most people faces were distorted by drugs and I have been treated like a junkie because of two joints which the security threw away when I declare I had them, since we are in Amsterdam and weed is a tolerated substance.
I am really disappointed by the treatment you reserved for me, I have nothing to hide and I care to underline that the 2 joints I had with me were what in holland is considered legal.
The message that you are sending is take harder drugs and be less honest. For next time I will keep it in mind. It is the less educational place I've ever been to. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
Best regards.

Went there to see RIcky Gervaise - the performance was absolutely amazing!
Regarding AFAS Live, I have to say, it is extremely easy to get there, there are many options to eat nearby.
What impressed me the most, though, was how organized the bars and restaurants were inside AFAS Live. You will not need to stay long in line for anything - drinks, food or toilet. This was a huge plus IMHO.
Really worth a visit!!

I visited with friends to see the 'Stray Cats', which for those who are not familiar, is a three piece rockabilly band. The venue's capacity is 6,000 which is smaller than most arenas and therefore, in my opinion, a better venue because even at the back you can still see the stage well. The majority of space was for standing (or dancing if you could find enough space) but there is the option of seating if you prefer. It's not allocated so if you are a large group and you want to sit together, I would recommend arriving a little early.
The sound was spot on.
There is ample parking nearby and the venue was easy to find (right next to the Ajax stadium).

I think AFAS Live is a great venue, the sound system works as it should BUT the problem for me and all fans waiting for the concert was security. They were rude, made fun of us, didn’t care about our safety. At night there came a man who seemed potentially dangerous but the security didn’t do anything about it, they just laughed at him while he was shouting things at us.
The concert, though, was fantastic. As expected from Monsta X. They always deliver the best quality performances. I had lots of fun and enjoyed every second of it.

To access bar in the arena, drinks must be purchased using tokens. Whilst this minimises the length of each transaction there is no indication of how many tokens each drink is worth and staff were not consistent in how they applied the cost e.g on one occasion a drink was 4 tokens and the very next time 5. Also the tokens have to be bought in bundles of €10, €20 or €50. €20 equals 14 tokens and 2 drinks cost 8 tokens. If purchasing tokens using a €20 or €50 note there is no change available if you only want to purchase €10 worth.

Went to HMH to Watch The Libertines, entry was smooth without any hold ups. The layout of the venue is well thought out. The disappointing aspect was the drinks token issues. Give plenty of time to collect your drinks token so you don't miss the gig.

Slick entry procedures, individual lockers, and subtle but present security made for a great stormzy concert. Really clean and good selection of drinks at the bar too

Looking at tickets for Take That which unfortunately is an all seated concert. I realise Tribune is behind the black box sections, but am I right in thinking it is elevated seating? I’m wondering if this would be a better option for seeing if higher up rather than at the back of the Black Box. Any advice appreciated.

The venue is different for every gig. The floor area is by the bar and seats around. Contact the venue. They were amazing helping me seat my disabled husband. Very helpful and friendly.

Beste Kim,
Geen idee of er kluisjes zijn. Ik ben gewoon met mijn tas en jas naar mijn plaats gegaan.
Zou even AFAS zelf vragen
Mooie voorstelling toegewenst.

I bought tickets to the Lauryn hill concert in Dec, there was only one price for the tickets. I was wondering if the Seats are on a first come first serve basis or is it standing only
Thank you

usually seats are assigned as per ticket, but that can differ per concert, so be sure to check. Have fun with Lauryn Hill!
