    Keane to come back!
Visited AFAS arena for the first time, to see the fabulous Keane on their K20 tour. Sound was amazing, staff all very friendly and the scheme with tokens to stop people dumping empty drinks containers a master stroke! Already hoping to come back again and see some more live music. Only niggle was the exiting was very chaotic and not organised at all!

    Brilliant
I was here for Pulp concert and wow what a great arena to see them. Security were great, I was in early so was near front but the sound and set up were outstanding. When entering I got served straight away. I wouldn’t hesitate to return here if there was someone I wanted to see. Spot on

    The Timeless Boys
Newcastle is a place that has always been very close to my heart. My first English friend was from Newcastle and she had given me a very positive impression about the place and its culture. Straightforward and quiet direct people but in the meanwhile very loving, compassionate and supportive in many ways as true friends who equally value directness, honesty and mostly a good sense of humor. I was happy to recently discover that the Pet Shop Boys, a band I grew up with as a teenager and continue to be a big fan of, is originally from Newcastle. The Pet Shop Boys always represented for me a 'progressive band' in terms of their music and songs, and this same impression continues up until today regardless of how things have changed, equally progressed and developed in the Pop music arena. Watching the Pet Shop Boys live for the first time at the AFAS Live concert hall in Amsterdam was definitely an experience that I will always remember. A functional and modern hall that can accommodate a large number of people with a smaller hall also available for after parties. Good acoustics and a cool and pleasant atmosphere. The always progressive, relevant, yet essentially intellectual songs of this very English and international band were able to spread very positive vibes throughout the concert. The audience enjoyed every moment of the concert in response to the impressive performance and show that the Pet Shop Boys delivered and further reflected and communicated their genuine talent and the 'quiet power' they possess and have personified over the years. Highly recommended for the loyal fans of the good, classic, and timeless!

No tap water available absolutely disgusting
Went to watch the darts which were very good however the bar staff were refusing to give out tap water which personally I think is absolutely disgusting because in a venue where so much alcohol is promoted and consumed it should be available! Wasn’t also overly impressed about the lady touching the inside of my waistband while’s completing security checks. It would also help if the staff had a rough idea of were table number are this would avoid confusion and conflict between views I had several people shout at me because they thought I was in their seats when I wasn’t.

Everything was really top arranged and in front there was plenty of water distributed.

If you're at the front I really recommend to bring ear protection because the noise there is really loud!:)

The security was very nice, someone stayed after the concert until I was safely picked up while he was already finished working, thank you very much for this:)

I was left feeling terrible after my experience at the venue. Despite the house rules stating nothing about umbrellas being prohibited, the security personnel confiscated my special wind-resistant umbrella without giving me the option to store it in a locker. As a result, I got drenched in the rain on my way back as my umbrella was nowhere to be found!

What made matters worse was the unfriendly behavior of the security staff. Their justification for taking my umbrella was that it could potentially be used as a weapon, but they did not bother to check any of the allowed bag sizes for actual weapons.

Overall, my experience was extremely disappointing, and I have no desire to return to this venue in the future.

Been to Sting's. Nice performance. The location is excellent next to the station. The room is nicely limited so that you are relatively close to the artist
The seats are a bit far away. If you can stand, take a seat in the room

Drag Token!
Everything was neatly arranged, from the row outside, toilets outside, the guidance, security people, the "flow" of going inside.
I had started queuing half an hour before opening doors. Was very nice. Once inside, I walked to the 2nd floor as quickly as possible because I really wanted to sit a bit higher to see that great drummer from Sleep Token.
When I came up, the whole front row was almost occupied, but not much else. So I chose a seat in row 2 on the stairs. Good and clear view!
On the floor it was only a quarter full.
Bar in each part looked like, left, right, 1st & 2nd floor. Escape routes etc.. everything is well signposted.
I had a great night, not only thanks to Sleep Token, but also Afas Live and their organization. Great!

Gypsy Kings sold out. Seating only. Unfortunately, we were among groups of friends who apparently had already had too much to drink and/or believed that they could communicate loudly across the rows. At the third song (great music!) they all stood up so you couldn't see anything of the band anymore. Why don't these guys dance in the aisle themselves so they don't spoil other people's fun? Or buy a CD, rent a room and go crazy. We dropped out prematurely. A waste of all that money.

Still a nice concert hall. Easy to get in, quick to your place. Enough points to score a beer. Sound Markus King wasn't great this time. Bit dull mud sound. It's too bad.

Walking distance to the station, so I didn't need a coat for that little piece! Otherwise, lockers are available. I got one drink, but getting to the bar was doable. Toilets are fine too. Sound was good too. All in all good experience.
