About
There is one bridge in Amsterdam’s central canal belt that gives a view of no less than 15 bridges. This unusual sight is found at the bridge crossing of the Reguliersgracht with the Herengracht, on the side with odd numbers. Standing on this bridge with your back to the Thorbeckeplein, you will see six arched bridges in a row. To the left you will find six more over the Herengracht and on the right you will see the next two. The 15th is the bridge you are standing on. It is particularly worth coming here at night as the bridges are illuminated giving one of the most beautiful and romantic views in Amsterdam.

Neighborhood: Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

Cute spot to go see if you have the time. Cannot actually see 15 bridges when standing on the bridge. Was hoping our boat tour would take this route but it didn't, so cannot confirm nor deny whether it's viewable from a boat. I imagine it's lovely at night, but didn't get a chance to experience it at night. Wouldn't recommend going out of your way to see this if you're on a tight schedule, fine if you have the time and want a free activity in Amsterdam (hard to come by!).

PROS
* Pretty attractive quaint view
* Many illuminated bridges
CONS
You have to find the correct/best place to see this- and at night when the bridges are illuminated
"I VISITED THIS PLACE"...
... after I learned about it on my Flagship Amsterdam cruise. I walked to it after the Analogues concert at the Carre Theater.
WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
It doesn't have a cost
WOULD "I VIST THIS PLACE' AGAIN"
If I happened to be in the area- sure

"Amsterdam is sometimes referred to as the “Venice of the North.” That’s because the city is criss-crossed by 165 canals, creating hundreds of small ‘islands’ that are connected by over 1280 bridges."
So if you have a chance to see that (especially in the evening or during the night) just go for it!!

As a born "Amsterdammer", i've always wondered why this is a tourist attraction. You'll see 5 of the remaining bridges (the rest has been gone for at least 4 centuries), and you can see that at least on 5 different locations. You might get a nice picture out of it, but only during summer nights, and if the captain is willing to stay in place for a couple of seconds.

I went there with my wife a in a cold night.Less than 10 minutes south of Dam .The view was brilliant. You need a good camera to make good pictures.After that we went to leidesplein for dinner, as I said it was too cold to stay there, we just saw and come back.

Great view on canal tour- boat slows so that you can see the bridges. Illuminated at night so quite a sights. However, rather overrated during the day - you simply can't see that many bridges. Still a very beautiful view.

I really don’t think it’s possible to see all 15 bridges unless maybe at water level. We went twice; first was twilight (too early since the lights weren’t on) then again at night when the view is good. I think I counted 12 bridges from where I was. Yes, pretty sights in two directions and worth going for a look. But 15? I just don’t think so.

This is the one spot in Amsterdam where you can see 15 bridges at the same time. Well worth seeking out for sure. It is the bridge crossing the Reguliersgracht on the corner of Herengracht. You can find this corner on your map or with any of the mapping apps which work well in Amsterdam by the way. The location is between Central and the Museum District and is an easy walk and/or tram ride.
Go at night when the bridges are lit up and the reflections are great -especially for some great photos.
Well worth checking out though for sure..

I just read your review and thought I would let you know ,we did the boat trip and to see 15 bridges in a row you need to be on a boat lower down .

I saw it both from the boat lower down as well from top of one of the bridges. View from the boat is of course better.
