We just completed a four day self guided bicycle trip. I Cycle Holland was fantastic! The routes were great and an excellent way to see the Netherlands country side. We have two teenagers who were not happy about the idea of spending 4 days on a bike but they ended up really enjoying the trip. The bikes were in excellent condition. Sophie made it very easy to plan and organize the trip. The routes each day took us past castles, countryside, windmills, canals and charming cities. We loved it and can't wait to make another trip. Highly recommend!!!

Best holland cycling Tulip tour for Amateurs
We had been on a memorable Holland tulip cycle tour for four nights ,self guided in may which is the best time for tulip season. We took the following route from Amsterdam to Harlem ( night stay), to Leiden with night stay , to Delft then to Gouda with night stay and return to Amsterdam . This is our first tour as beginners and easy one, travelling about 40-50 kms a day without strain and routes are well sign posted all over holland and safe and easy and beautiful
Cycle route-it is easier to follow the route on cycle maps which you should carry in your pocket all the time and do not hesitate to ask local people.
1. Amsterdam to Harlem route- Follow green route towards Sloterdjik, Sparndam and then Harlem
2. Harlem to Leiden via tulip route- follow 81 route to Heemstede to De Zilk ( via routes 71, 72, 76,16) to Kuekenhoff visit and afternoon start to via Sassenheim to Leiden
3. Leiden to Delft- start travelling to Voorschoten, Leidschendam ( visit three windmill ) then follow 79, 75,71,70, along Rijswijk canal route to Delft
4. Delft to Gouda - start to Delfgauw merel en Rodenrijs then follow to beautiful lake Rottemerren cross via boat and take route 93 ,26,24 via Folder plains to Gouda
5. Gouda to Amsterdam-start early as takes about 6hours. Follow to Booskoop, Zwammerdam, Niewkoop, Nieuwveen, Di Kwakel to Aalsmeer and finally to Amsterdam
Tips -
1To buy cycle maps for each regions ( try to buy in advance if you possible-Amsterdam (Stadsregio Amsterdam map) and Zuid-holland midden map for Leiden, Gouda region)
2. To book for renting cycles in advance ( we book from bike city Amsterdam but it closes at 5 pm ) and prefer to look for shops which open late hours
We can carry our luggage on cycle panniers
Hotels
1. Harlem - we stayed at carillon but won't recommend
2.Leiden hotel Ibiza nice good hotel opposite to train station
3. At Delft- hotel de ark - fine hotel to recommend
4. In Gouda - try to explore as our hotel is not the best

I did the self-directed "Classic Holland Bike Tour" in 9 days (2 extra nights in Delft and Utrecht) and highly recommend it. The GPS with pre-loaded routes performed without a hitch. Moreover, the routes are truly amazing and are designed to take full advantage of what is likely the finest cycling infrastructure of any country on the planet. Rather than simply riding along the major autoways, ICH's routes take you on the dedicated bike paths and cycleways through the most scenic country that Holland has to offer. I also chose to have my luggage transferred from city to city and it ALWAYS arrived on time at my selected hotels. Finally, the Trek road bike performed satisfactorily and was problem free. In summary, I have to say that ICH is one of those rare organizations that really does deliver everything and more that what was expected.

My wife and I were too late to book a bike-barge tour in the high season so we decided to go with I Cycle Holland. We were extremely pleased with the service. They laid out a six day tour of about 50km per day that led us past many scenic areas and kept us cycling on remote cycle tracks that were a real pleasure. We saw some of the most beautiful spots in Holland, including many flower farms, Keukenhoff, dairy farms, beautiful areas that wind along tracks that are like islands and we got to see, up close and personal, how the natives live. When you're on a bike in Holland you're among friends, unlike many places in the U.S. Without the GPS, the intricate routes and small tracks would have been impossible to find. A map or Q-sheet would have been worthless. We booked our own hotels in the towns along the way and the GPS routes led us right to our hotel each night. I Cycle Holland arranged for our luggage to be transferred to our destination hotel each day and that worked flawlessly.
Bike delivery was prompt and flawless. We brought our own saddles, rear racks and front handlebar bags and Dennis installed them for us. Returning the bikes was just as flawless.
Our only disappointment was our own doing. We should have scheduled two days in some of the destination towns so we could have spent more time exploring. So, we decided we may come back next year and do that.

I stayed in the Netherlands for 3 weeks with my last 5 days being in Amsterdam. My boyfriend and I had the best time on our cycling trip through I Cycle Holland. I highly recommend this company and will definitely use again for future trips to the Netherlands. Setting everything up was very easy and took just a few short e-mails. We brought our own shoes and pedals with us, Mauro from I Cycle Holland provided everything else - bikes, helmets, water bottles, GPS. I told Mauro that we wanted to do ~30 miles and he set us up with a 60k ride (37.9) miles and it was the greatest adventure we experienced in Holland. Mauro's son, Geatano, met us at our hotel in the morning. He put our pedals on the bikes, showed us how to use the GPS, and we were on our way. The views from the route were spectacular. We rode up the northeast coast and back around through Amsterdam North. We rode over many bridges, had two ferry rides, ate lunch in a tiny old village, and took some amazing photos.
This was the best experience I had while in the country and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. Thank you, I Cycle Holland, for a wonderful stress-free adventure!

I rented 2 bikes from Mauro in August 2015 as a birthday present for a friend. Mauro responded promptly via email and we worked out the details. The bikes were dropped off at our hotel by Dennis who did last minute adjustments to our satisfaction. Mauro worked up 2 routes of different lengths and programmed the Garmin nav unit accordingly. He made the routes available for me to DL into my Garmin. The ride was great! The route was nice and scenic and rural. I highly recommend I Cycle Holland. I can't say enough good things about my experience. See Holland up close on 2 wheels - you'll be glad you did.

Mauro did a great job at planning our daily routes. As requested, we biked through different landscapes of Holland; dunes, dikes, polders, national park, nature reserve. We visited medieval towns and well known tourists attractions like Kinderdjik, Royal Dutch Delftware Factory, Zaanse Schans, Marken. Gaetano also did an excellent job at delivering the bikes and transferring our luggages. The Trek and all accessories worked perfectly... We loved our first biking experience and hope we will have a chance to do it again. Thanks Mauro and Gaetano!!

Last week I completed an eight day tour of Holland by bicycle along with five other fathers from my children's school.
Two members of our group did not want to ship bikes from the US and I found I Cycle Holland through web search and we rented bikes for our trip. Our rental went perfectly! Sofie of I Cycle Holland was responsive both by email and phone. We rented two bikes for the trip along with back racks and panniers, Sofie also provided us with bike locks, bungee cords, two spare innertubes, and a CO2 inflator. Our bicycles were brand new GIANT road bikes which proved to be a great choice for our 550km trek around the country. We scheduled the delivery of our bikes to our hotel in Amsterdam prior to arrival. Sofie arrived as promised and on time and delivered the bikes. We paid her by credit card for the rental and security deposit and the whole process took five minutes. We arrangeed a date and time for the return which went without incident. I very pleased by the great service and the quality of their rental bikes. We had terrific trip touring Holland and l will certainly use I Cyle Holland again! Much less hassle than shipping my bike and dealing with the dismantling, packing, airport, airline fees, etc..

Highly recommended. Amazing service, from Mauro's beautiful, personalised itineraries to Dennis and Luana's expert equipment adjustments and timely drop-offs and pick-ups. Great bikes, particularly for the vertically challenged among us. Many thanks to the team for an unforgettable autumn tour of the NL. Ten days was not enough...

I was in Amsterdam for work and rented a road bike for a week. Mauro put together 6 routes, 4 of which I was able to do during my time. The routes were all unique and easy to follow with the GPS system. I explored North, South, East, and West of Amsterdam and it was an incredible way to experience the Country! Dennis delivered the bike to my hotel, with everything I would need for the week. He was incredibly nice and was happy to spend as much time necessary adjusting the bike to make sure everything was perfect.
After the first ride, I mentioned to Mauro that the men's saddle was uncomfortable, and that I had a hard time going longer than 50km. They immediately looked for a new seat and ended up purchasing a new, women's saddle that was very comfortable! Dennis came back to install it and was just as nice and professional as the first time I met him.
I really can't say enough good things about this company. They take excellent care of their clients and the routes are very well thought out in terms of safety, ease of navigation, and sightseeing. I explored the North countryside, went all the way to the Coast, through National Parks, and in many small villages with cafes lining the cobbled streets. I am already trying to figure out when I can come back with my family and friends to do a bigger cycling tour of Holland!

Hi,
I am planning a cycle tour around the country and need luggage transfers from air bnb's. However, I cycle Holland only deals with transfers from hotels and now I am in a bit of a panic.
How did you and the other dads handle this?
Does anyone out there know of a reputable company who will transfer from town to town to air bnb's?

We planned our own itinerary, stayed at hotels, and did not use the luggage transfer service. Upon arriving in Amsterdam and taking delivery of my bike with a back rack and panniers, I transferred the contents of my duffel bag to two 20 liter waterproof panniers and left my duffel bag with the bellman at our Amsterdam hotel.
I did one load of laundry on the road to make it through the week.
I know "I cycle Holland" can provide luggage transfer service to hotels because hotels have staff on duty 24/7 to take receipt of your luggage. I can certainly understand they are not comfortable leaving your bags unattended at an Airbnb address.
My best advice is to travel light. I cycle Holland also rents bike trailers to haul cargo behind your bike if you choose to carry more than what you can pack or carry on your bike rack. Some members of our group who had their own panniers used them as their carry on luggage for the airline portion of our trip. If light packing is not an option, I would check with other Dutch bike tour operators and see if they'll help with Air BNB luggage pick up and drop off. Have a great trip!

Hi, together with my husband, we are visiting Amsterdam in first weekend of March. Would you please send us prices and how to book?
Also, I see from reviews that rental for more than 4 days are done. Could it be for just 2 days?
Please come back to me!
Thank you,
