    Zaanse Schans Cheese Store
Stopped in for some cheese and souveniers to take home after spending the day in the outdoor village at Zaanse Schans. Store was quite busy- with lots of different cheeses and accessories to choose from. Employees dressed in Original Dutch Costumes- offering tastings and answering questions. Cheeses were delicious, purchased various mustards as well. They packaged items nicely for travel. Delicious, fresh, and worth the wait in line.

Best Cheese Shop in Amsterdam 👍
I love the concept of having different cheese flavours; with herbs, garlic, and thyme for example. There are many more cheese options too. They let you try samples and it is simply delicious. I didn’t see anyone not leaving the shop without purchasing any cheese. Visit there by yourself, no need to buy any tickets or tours. Google the shop and it’s nearby.

    Disappointed
There is much to do and see and the museums are amazing. However, there is trash in the streets and an overall feeling of dirty. The cyclists have the right of way and we were constantly screaming warnings of Bikes! The bike lanes are well maintained, but the sidewalks for pedestrians are uneven and dangerous. I will not be going back.

    If you love cheese..
..Definitely visit one of their shops if you can! My fiancé and I happened into the store near the flower market on a quick three-day layover in Amsterdam earlier this month. We were not disappointed! They have samples of most, if not all, their yummy cheeses out on display, including a delicious honey mustard and some crunchy bread/crackers to go with. Oh, and can't forget the stroopwafels.. The staff was friendly and they will let you know which cheeses would be legal to bring back home (for US, the pasteurized cheese..). Literally brought home about $100 EU worth of a variety of gouda cheese... : p (The herb & garlic and pesto are some of our favorites.) Then I just found out that they can ship to the US! Bringing it home ourselves was cheaper, but it's great if you want to give these delicious goodies as gifts! Since Amsterdam has a ton of cheese shops all over the place, we walked into several, but returned to Henri Willig's store because we loved the taste and presentation. Clean, bright and attractive store, with lots of samples, delicious cheese, and friendly staff. What's not to like?

    Fantastic Gouda Cheese!!!
We were introduced to Henri Willig when we visited Holland and the cheese is delish! Fortunately, we can get it by ordering online, so even though we are in Canada, we can still eat the cheese periodically. The cumin Gouda is amazing, as well as the Truffle. Recommended!

    a party of Dutch cheese!
We entered to the shop because it seemed a great party inside. My husband and I were determined to just visit and not buy anything.. did not know we were seriously mistaken. The local samples the diverse cheeses, dressings with bread sticks on round tables around the shop. The staff is always available to help you. We finally bought the pesto cheese (delicious) and natural goat cheese. The balsamic mustard was really good. Unfortunately we could not buy the normal size (370 gr) because of the airport regulations (under 100 ml). Instead, a woman from the staff sold us a little glass jar (50 ml). It was a little gem. Would recomend commerce to start selling the quantity of 100 since most people that buy these sort of things are tourists that have to fly back home. I highly reccomend this shop and will definitely return!

Very touristy but tons of samples and cheese was tasty. Cheese was pricey and you can buy this same cheese at airport. Cheese apparently doesn’t need to be refrigerated for a month so ok to bring home.

I have visited the main Henri Willig dairy farm on previous visits to the Netherlands and have been impressed by how committed the family is to selling high quality products. They offer a wide variety of cheese flavors (the garlic and herb is my favorite, but I also like the new-ish beer flavor) as well as cheese accessories (cheese knives and graters) that make wonderful gifts. They ship to the US in case you don't have room in your luggage.

There was no non-alcoholic liquid to sell, as they had run out of water, I even asked for some water to drink from the employees' own consumption, as I was very thirsty, which was denied.

Taste lots of cheese and see the cows that make it. Tour was nice and explanation was educational. Took a few wheels home to the United States.

We were supposed to have the tasting on Saturday (3rd of September). We arrived at 16:00 to the location mentioned on getyourguide.dk and it turned out it was a different location, so in rush we have called the place and we have apologised for being late, and asked for a few more minutes, since we simply got lost because of having 2 different locatons mentioned confirmed. We had 400m left to walk, so we could have made it. Yet, we were told on the phone that they start now, and we got no chance to join them. We were offered nor refund or chance for getting a voucher to purchase cheese and wine in their store, since we were supposed to fly back home to Copenhagen the next day. As our flight got cancelled on Sunday, we called them again and we were again met with a bad customer experience. The conversation did not bring any benefit for us, since we got no refund, no voucher or chance for attending the next tasting.

My friends and I booked & prepaid for the experience. When we arrived near the location, we couldn't find the place, so we called the staff. The employee that picked up the phone said that it is our problem if we have trouble finding the place and we shouldn't show up as we were already 2 minutes late. He said, he will start without us, and there is no way to get a refund or a voucher if we miss out. The tone of the employee was rude, and he clearly did not want to help us. He did not look for solutions and seemed annoyed that we dared to ask for help. We were very disappointed with the service, all we needed was a little bit of help. Very sad if this person was the one guiding the experience - he did not seem like someone who can or wanted to work with or for people. For the customer care and service - one star, but if zero existed, that would be the one :)
