De Stadsschouwburg is a really lovely building. The architecture is majestic. This is a neo-Renaissance style construction, and originally it used to be the National Ballet and Opera House. It is worth a stop and deserves a closer look if you are in the vicinity.

The excellent young dancers of the NDT perform three spellbinding pieces of modern and contemporary ballet in this superb show. So good we saw it twice. Enjoy real culture in Amsterdam. Be amazed. See for yourself.

I walked around after seeing Rijksmuseum. I stopped to watch out this building (I was only outside, no performace). Beautiful achitecture. Definitely worth seeing.

Pleasant old-world architecture makes for a good theater experience, with a bar/restaurant on the first floor, good cafe and meeting place.

Ate lunch here. Watched people go by and just soaked up the atmosphere near Leidesplein. Exterior architecture is beautiful Renaissance style.

This is a great place for informal meetings. Does not matter what time I come in, always good staff. I like the lunch menu, simple and good food.

Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of
tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists
and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the
best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe.
Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops
of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones
Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods
such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring
