Great place, with nice restaurant, but you go for the theatre! Always great! And the place is filled with the good energy of actors! 19/1 and 20/1: RACE, a theatre what's a worldwide theme, performed great!

If you go to the theater on Thursday night, the plays are surtitled in English. There are, however, plays or performances in English. I have gone twice and both times the plays were thought provoking. The last time, it was a performance in English but we all had to wear ear phones because it was about exploring consciousness. It was... More

Visiting a debate I wasn't aware of the beauty of the theatre. Rather big theatre, yet intimate. Great place to have a bite and a drink afterwards.

This city theatre , which i suppose is the best translation for "Stadsschouwburg" is centrally located at the "Leidseplein" and is definitely worth a visit if you enjoy the atmosphere of an authentic theatre and its architecture. Furthermore the service we experienced by all staff was impecable and delivered with a smile.

But the place cannot be ignored, of course. It is an opera house located in the heart of Amsterdam and it used to be the home of the National ballet... More

A historic authentic theater in the centre of Amsterdam. Great place to visit a play. In the surrounding there are good restaurants and bars.

We met a friend in the cafe for drinks and snacks, and it was lovely. There is an enormous chandelier overhead and the atmosphere is elegant but friendly.

We went to a special play called "Juliana" about the life of the late Queen of the Netherlands, Queen Juliana. Fabulous! This stunning national monument is a true eye catcher, both in - and outside. Old world elegance. Before we attended the play, we had dinner in the theater restaurant next to the lobby but the food what nothing special.... More
