It's a wonderful piece of nature where you can relax and enjoy the sun, run around or ride a horse, even take a swim. Seek for the rast-cows (a strange kind of cows with very long heirs..), they are amazing! And it's even a good location for airplane-watching: imagine laying in the grass looking at 747 or Airbus380 passing just... More

We had only one day to spend here. We rented bicycles at the Fietsverhuur Amsterdamse Bos de Boshalte. The owners were wonderfully helpfulness they are just across the street from the information center. The park is free to enter and has an interesting history as to how it was built, so check out the web site before you visit. We... More

Love the variety of things to do, the obstacle course is a great distraction for 10 to adult adventurers. We visited the goat farm too which was fun. Hire a bike and spend a day exploring. Lots of cafés, and swimming places if you get lucky with the weather.

... At least for us Germans that have tons of wood in real dark forests, this doesn't apeal to us like a real forest and more like a park without seatbanks. Strange experience, as you see it did not grow manually.

Went here the day that we were going to fly out of Schiphol (and we were at a hotel in the area), so it seemed like a more convenient thing to do rather than go back into the city. Though accessible by public transportation, and we were quite close, it actually was a slow trip, including some walking, and would... More

My girlfriend and me spent 7 days in amsterdam and without doubt our best exprience was the Amsterdamse Bos. Its just so beautiful, quaint and relaxing being there. I highly recommend on renting bikes and riding through the forest. stefany, the woman who rented us the bike was very sweet and charming.

the "AMSTERDAMSE BOS" was artificially created from open "polder" fields and meadows during the economic depression around 1930 to give the unemployed a meagre income. Now after 84 years the mature woodland west of AMSTELVEEN, south west of AMSTERDAM BUITENVELDERT,is a vast urban forest. The constant noisy from planes landing and departing from nearby SCHIPHOL reminds the visitor of it,s... More

Lovely place to spend a day with children - we spent the day cycling round the park with our kids on the cycle paths. There are a number of playgrounds with paddling pools and an adventure playground above water! Near the main entrance there is ample parking(this can be used to park for a trip into amsterdam) which is free.... More
