We were looking for something to do during our last minute trip to Amsterdam and came across Fabrique des Lumières and we were so glad we did! It is truly an amazing experience if you are a fan of the magnificent art work of Van Gogh and Mondrian among others. The artwork is projected around the room and every wall showed a different element of each piece. It was a fully immersive and fantastic experience and we would highly recommend a visit.

As a space enthusiast, visiting the Fabrique des Lumières for the Space Expo was nothing short of a fairytale-like experience. The combination of mesmerizing visuals and perfectly synchronized sound created an atmosphere that left me in awe. The entire hangar was full of people, yet the experience was so captivating that no one made a sound—everyone was simply entranced by the beauty around them. The expo is a must for anyone who loves art, space, or light shows, or is simply looking for a truly unique experience. The mirror rooms were a special highlight, where you can lie down and fully immerse yourself in the otherworldly atmosphere. There's also a room showcasing upcoming shows, which added to the anticipation for future visits. From the moment we arrived, the welcoming staff and the chance to grab a drink at the entrance set the tone for a fantastic visit. I highly recommend this experience—it’s unlike anything else.

When I went, 'From Vermeer to Van Gogh (Dutch Masters)' was showing. I went there not expecting much more than images projected onto screens. It was so much more, truly an immersive experience. Apart from the main screening, there were also 'Mondriaan, An Abundance of Colour' and '#mygirlwithapearl – The Immersive Edition'. Although I'm not usually very appreciative of classical art, this exhibition blew my mind and I was in there for about 2.5hrs.

This was not what we expected! We expected it to be an exhibition that you walk through, but it is a show made from projections so you stay in one room for 45mins. Inside the room there are other smaller sections to give a different immersive experience. There is also an AI Photo Booth. It was really cool how they made all the projections line up and fill the room but we didn’t really understand what the projections were showing!!

One of the best things we’ve done in Amsterdam! I thought we would spend about 30 mins in there, but ended up staying an hour and a half as the art is so mesmerising. It’s such a wonderful experience and a unique way to experience art. The accompanying music is also so relaxing! There are some love bars and restaurants surrounding it. We went towards the end of the day and it was quite quiet. Absolutely worth a visit!

We went to see the Dutch Masters exhibit, and I thought it was spectacular. Housed in a unique repurposed old gasworks building, they show on the walls and floors the art of the old masters, but often digitally reimagined so it looks as the art is in motion. Being a fan of Van Gogh, I had never seen his work like this before. So amazingly beautiful did I find it that I was actually moved to tears when they showed ‘Starry Night’. A beautiful way to rediscover so many wonderful artists. Highly recommended.

This is an inexpensive experience with great views! I prefer this type of art opposed to a museum with still photos & statues. It’s a feel free walk around event with moving art and instrumental music. I attended the From Vermeer to Van Gogh Dutch Masters exhibit. Everything was lovely. It is quite isolated but you have restaurants, a movie theater, greenery, and a bakery to explore as well.

You can go there with your eyes closed. (but open very wide once there ) 😉 We had a great time. In the Hall of Lights we saw two screenings: from Vermeer to Van gogh and a shorter one (street art genre). For us, one of the best activities to do in AMSTERDAM.

Very rewarding, also with (slightly older) children. We were all silent about the beautiful way in which images of Van Gogh's masterpieces and the music flooded you. Nice location also on the western gas site, make it an afternoon with walk through the Westerpark and lunch.

Far too expensive: family ticket €48. The entire hall of the old gas factory is covered in projections on the walls. You can watch a one-hour art presentation. Once you understand the principle, it quickly gets boring. Everything is a bit too kitschy, including the music. Not for us.

A unique theatre in a unique location. The performance is beautiful especially the part of the old masters. The paintings of Rembrandt and Van Gogh are presented in a unique way. The part of the girl with the pearl was nice

The place is beautiful, part of the old Amsterdam gas factory, today turned into a series of cafes, restaurants, cultural centers, art cinema, etc., in the middle of the incredible Westerpark. "Immersive" exhibition in which famous works are projected onto high walls and partially moved to the sound of music. It's pleasant and fun, but it doesn't compare to seeing the works in museums. Despite this, it is in high demand, as "immersive" experiences are very fashionable. It's worth the trip to Westerpark and the Westergasfabriek attractions.

Locateded in a former industrial building Fabrique des Lumieres is now hosting a audiovisual art experience. You are surrounded by audiovisual effects and music. Especially the performance of salvador dali‘s surreal paintings is absolutly stunning. It‘s like a dream and walking into and through the paintings. Take your time, relax and enjoy.

The screening/exhibition "Dutch Masters, from Vermeer to van Gogh" was magnificent. I got goose bumps, so the music and presentation of the paintings touched me. Our teenagers were also impressed (and that doesn't happen often..). We can absolutely recommend a visit!

If you like Dali and Gaudi this is not to be missed. To be immersed in the huge projected images of these two great artists is a thrilling experience. The installation is in the old buildings of the former Gas Works, and is an easy 20-25 minutes’ walk from the centre.

1 hour visit we went there with a 12 year old and an art student. The young man found it pretty but off-putting. The student obviously liked it very much. There is a photobooth sent by email as a souvenir, it’s nice. 1 show of 30 minutes the other 15 in a row. Animation of the painters' works at 360 degrees. A room with an immersive video is very well done. Afterwards I personally find it expensive for the duration of the visit.

This is a wonderful immersive installation experience and incredibly moving. Absolutely wowser! Such finite beauty in the old dutch masters. I don't know how they did it and to see it come to life in this form is incredibly powerful. Spectacular. The best thing I've seen for a long time and felt lucky to have been able to see it.

What an intense and wonderful experience! Certainly nothing like any art exhibition we have visited before, the show (which it felt more like) was absolutely captivating. Would be interesting to see the landscape project in the larger room!

We were bowled over by this attraction. The display of works of art was hypnotic, accompanied by great music which was mostly classical but with some jazz too. The pictures in the main room were animated and constantly moving but there was a Side room where you could see a continuous display showing the actual pictures. There are other rooms with different types of display, all worth seeing. Difficult to describe, but we loved it.
