We took a walking tour with David the day after our arrival in Amsterdam and I think it was the great decision. The cost (for two) is no more that what you would pay for a group tour of 30 or more persons. David was really great and showed us places we would not of thought of and some that... More

We booked with my 15 year old daughter the red light district tour at 8pm. We thought it's better she gets to know this part of life together with us. Our tour guide Bas was amazing! Open to every question we had and explaining the details age appropriate for my daughter. Very informative and interesting and with this topic not... More

My husband i took the Red Light district tour and it was simply superb! The guide was friendly and answered all my questions patiently! we were also entitled to a drink at a local bar and we had a great time. it felt more like we had met a friend who was showing us around the city, rather than a... We found Omy Amsterdam Tours by coincidence we were a couple and we had two teenagers tagging a long.. so a bit scared of what to expect when we booked the " 90 min. Amsterdam City Centre Tour". Afraid that it could be too long or might get a bit boring for our teenagers. But on the contrary! Our kids... More

Originally from the UK but living here in Amsterdam, we have friends visiting frequently. We had a really interesting tour with Bas, the guy is a legend. Found out a lot about my neighbourhood and our friends got to try some Dutch food and beers. Would definitely recommend and do the tours again with other visitors from home.

Outstanding fun on this tour, as part of our weekend away in Amsterdam. Bas really knows his stuff, but also had us chuckling for the whole tour! Set us up nicely for the rest of the weekend. Definitely recommend this for Amsterdam first-timers!

I had some friend over from England and wanted to have them entertained for a few hours. I'd heard of Omy tours from a colleague and organised a pub/red light tour. Even as a local i had a awesome time. The little things you miss when you rush around in normal day life! Great beers and brilliant stories. Thanx Omy!

We were a group of 8 and wanted to see the City and learn about the culture, history and architecture of Amsterdam without going to the usual tourist spots. David did a great job of giving us a great "behind the scenes" tour and provided a great deal of background. He made efficient use of our time and was fully... More

I read about OMY on a Cruise Critic Forum. They were easy to contact via their Facebook page and responded within the day. It was a private tour for 4 in central Amsterdam. Michael did a terrific job of meeting our requests including stopping for a cheese tasting, a dutch waffle, and lunch. Be prepared to walk, it was a... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
