We had a great time wandering around Red Light District with David. There were just the two of us (OMY limits group sizes to 4) and David was a wonderful guide. He was funny, very knowledgeable and friendly. I was not sure what to expect from a Red Light District tour but it was so much more than just passing by the windows. Turned out, it was a great mixture of history, culture, fun facts and stories about local culture and customs. We really enjoyed it - and at the end, David recommended a fantastic, off-the-beaten track restaurant, which we would not find without him :)

I prefer tours where I'm not going around with large groups since I was traveling with a young child. This company allows a max of 4 people which is great. During the tour it was just me, my son and our guide. It felt more like a friend taking me around the city of Amsterdam where we could truly experience the city.

This is easily the No. 1 BEST walking tour of Amsterdam. I had a few days in town and ended up doing TWO different tours. The difference was like night and day. Kieren knows Amsterdam like the back of his hand, speaks perfect English and knows the type of things that visitors want to know about. While visiting hidden hole-in-the-wall establishments it's obvious the locals love and appreciate Kieren and go out of their way to share their knowledge and hospitality with his guests, much more so than any other tour guide. In fact it's hard to walk too far without a friendly local bailing him up for a chat, which in turn gives visitors a chance to meet real-life locals who normally don't go out of their way to greet tourists. This was all in stark contrast to one of the mainstream tours I did that was a mass production and just horrible. P.S DON'T do a bicycle tour of Amsterdam. The locals will either ridicule or curse you or both.

I had my in-laws in Amsterdam off-season and wanted a 3hr private tour. I emailed 4 companies and received prices ranging from 170 - 225 euros. OMY was 150 eur. Also, they were the only company to respond to my request the same day. We changed times on the day of the tour as two of the party were tired. A quick call and the time change was not a problem. Our guide Michael meet us at our hotel and asked about our interests. My father in-law likes WWII history and I love books. He covered the the main sites, history, culture of the city as I requested. We visited a great bookshop to which I returned and almost every stop a war story was told. For the diversity of our small group I was impressed by Michael's knowledge and storytelling ability. All in all I was very happy with omy. Thank you. Review posted to Omy Amsterdam Tours Tripadvisor: and Google if you are members please.

I don't like tours of large groups. OMY groups are only 4 people. Michael the guide was there as was another couple. We covered a lot and the three hours went by very quickly. What I really liked was how Michael kept us out of the weather. Every time a bit of rain came Michael led us inside. We went to a dutch design store, the opera house, a hidden church and a local bar for coffee. These guys have skills - highly recommended.
