The nine small streets are a paradise for shopaholics. You will not find any of the big chains you will find all over the world, but all kinds of small and interesting shops. The old houses in the streets are beautiful, so even passing the shops is nice.

You really get a feel for what is truly 'Amsterdam' like when you walk these narrow Streets and go shopping or have a drink at a bar. Lots or restaurants too to eat or just have coffee and cake when you are not hungry yet. The streets do tend to get a bit crowded mainly because they are so popular... More

We heard that the area was a nice one to walk through, and not too large or busy. On a Tuesday afternoon it was just fine. Spent a few hours there in total, easy to navigate. Streets are not too wide so it's fine to walk on one side, and pay attention to the stores on the other side, crossing... More

This is a lovely area to explore with lots of interesting small shops, restaurants and bars without the usual bland high street brands. You could spend a few hours exploring this area.

Nice shops with items you wouldn't find elsewhere. Not one chain store as far as I could tell. We talked to a few of the shop owners and they were all very pleasant and informative about their goods. One shop owner even asked us if we wanted a glass of wine because she was having one and didn't want to... More

nice quarter but it simply got too busy with people, feeling crowded all the time, agitated folks. Better visit this not in the weekend .

A nice place to wander round. Lots of unusual shops in all categories, and some exceptional ones. Basically a collection of odd little shops, but good. Worth a wander round.

This is a very interesting part of the city of Amsterdam. It is a pedestrian street with many shops and restaurants. A great spot to people watch!

After a gap of 9 years, I revisited this area. Not sure what was missing but I did not get the feeling I had last time. Not as much variety as I remembered and difficult to navigate with very few sign posts.
