It is a lively street, full of shops and restaurants of varied nature, but do be aware of pick pockets, especially when your tacking a photo. This really is a 'melting pot' (the meaning of the word Amsterdam...) of a street, and is a one minute walk from the train station. Walk up it to the flower and plant market... More

Trendy small shops. Small places to eat. Lots of shopping. You will get lost here for sure. No matter how many times you come here.

Loads of little shops selling specialized/hand crafted items. Plenty shops selling desserts and coffee and overall nice place to go walking in between the canals.

One of the things I really love about De Negev Straatjes (Nine streets) is that it is filled with small, mostly independent, shops of every stripe - if you want to buy a bow-tie, there is a shoot that specialises in same, if you are interested in jewellery, antiques, knick-knacks, second hand fur coats, funky young Dutch designers and on... Close to the centre and well worth a stroll around for a couple of hours. Lots of fun in a mirriad of small shops. If shopping for more expensive items some shops will still haggle.
