The area
Neighborhood: Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

Bloemgracht is one of the many canals surrounding the centre of Amsterdam. It is very picturesque round here and it is very pleasant to walk alongside. There are bridges crossing the canal and there are some tourist boats running around as well.
If you are walking beside the canal stick to the pavement or walk against the flow of traffic so you can see bicycles, cars and lorries coming towards you so you don't get caught out!

Bloemgracht is a smaller canal which runs between Prinsengracht to Lijnbaansgracht in the Jordaan district. I really like this small canal as its quiet with limited boat and vehicular traffic, allowing for really nice photographs and quiet walks.
The canal is lined with attractive canal houses and is a nice area during the warmer months when the trees lining the canal are filled with green leaves. You'll find lovely small bridge crossings with bicycles and planted flower pots. It is a really beautiful setting if you want the classic Amsterdam canal experience.

To me, this is one of the most photogenic little canals in Amsterdam. Be sure to bring your camera and snap away. No matter where you turn, it's virtually impossible to take a bad photo. Some reviewers seem to have confused this canal with the floating flower market, which this is not.

Do not go to the Bloemgracht expecting to find the floating flower market – that's located some way away on the Singel. Many previous reviewers have conflated these locations. The Bloemgracht translates as the Flower Canal and is lined with many fine buildings including the crowd-puller De Drie Hendricken built in 1642. The views down the relatively narrow canal at sunset are stunning. It is very picturesque at any time of year.

BLOEMgracht (FLOWER canal) is one of so many canals in Amsterdam. it's NOT the canal with flower market. There's not really special canal except the houses on Bloemgracht 87-91, "De Drie Hendricken", Tripple Stepped Gable houses with three different gable stones form 1642.

Any holiday I take to Amsterdam I just love the beautiful canals that make this such a wonderful city to visit and Bloemgracht ( Flower Canal ) is one of the most beautiful.
Located in the Jordaan district were the Prinsengracht and Lijnbaansgracht meet this canal looks awesome, the tall narrow houses that Amsterdam are famous for are in abundance here, the cute canalside cafe's and restaurants and the interesting architecture make this a great area to visit,if your a keen photographer don't forget the snapper as you will take some great photos of this canal and the outlying area.
A great area of Amsterdam and well worth checking out.

This area in the district of Jordaan is definitely my favourite. Quaint, peaceful and so beautiful with the canals tree lined. Listen out for the local church bell ringing on the hour. Lots of things to see do and eat here too.

This is a traditional and picturesque old Amsterdam Street, with typical houses crowded along the canal. Great for a walk or stroll especially if the weather is nice.
