So green, peaceful and beautiful

It's a shame we stayed in a hotel 2 min walk from this wonderful park and went only once. Most relaxing place

Vondel park is especially alive on Sunday. Families, bicycle riders, a few water points - not far from the museum.

The park is large with many people on bikes or walking throughout. Plenty of spots to picnic or relax in the sunshine.

We visited on a drizzly day and were disappointed and thought the attraction was over rated. Only visit if you are nearby anyway.

Vondel park is a huge park that is accessible to cyclists, walkers, dogs. It has a good range of trees, and birds and is a good place to walk, or ponder or just people watch.

We were first shown this on a cycle tour of Amsterdam. What a lovely spot. We were here in winter and it was nice to walk around. It would be beautiful in summer.

In all seasons, Vondelpark is a beautiful place to visit. Nice cafes, bike rentals near by, good areas to relax by.

One of those perfect Amsterdamer winter days, bright and crisp with that delightful space and old trees! Unhassled and calm! a real pleasure seeing so many young families enjoying themselves!

We walked around the whole park on a lovely crisp, sunny December day and it was beautiful. The pond had frozen over and children and adults alike were skimming broken ice across it. There are plenty of runners and cyclists amongst walkers alike. We stopped for a coffee at the MelkHuis which was a lovely place with sandwiches and cakes... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
