One of the most unattractive squares of Europe. there's nothing good to say about it. Police forbid street performers and the parking of bicycles.

Great place to stop at when visiting Amsterdam - you stay in this area all day; offering good bars & restaurants. Ended up in one of the bar areas outside within the 'Pod' area near the heaters & enjoyed a 'chillax' time chatting and drinking....More

Amsterdam is a truly great city to visit. This area is full of cheap touristy restaurants and bars, nothing sophisticated. All addressed to the young tourist trade. Great stop off point to catch a tram.

Leidseplein might be the most FUN square in Amsterdam! I've been here during different times of the year, and it's always fun. Its especially cool during the Christmas season. Must see if you're in Amsterdam, and right off the tram stop...TOO EASY!

Lively place to eat and drink in or outdoors. Heaters in parasol's if not to warm weather in outdoor square. Plenty of bars and Restaurant's to choose from.

There was large construction project going on along the road surface but it won't disturb the visitors there to sit down and have their coffee/beer at noon. This place was particularly popular among the American visitors and they really enjoyed the environment there.

City theater and lots of restaurants, pubs plus a movie theater to be found here, including the iconic Bulldog. Ice rink in winter time, street performers in summer. Big time renovation of the tram tracks going on at the moment, lessening ambiance. All in all...More

One of the locations that people said we must visit - a very busy area where we really enjoyed the different street performances and through the afternoon we were there - there was always something to see and enjoy. good location to visit for sure.

The taxi fare is about Euro 50. We usually take one from the taxi stand just outside the ariport...but we've also reserved taxis online. You can see the reviews on TripAdvisor.

I don't know about 858 to Keukenhof, but we took the 197 to Schipol on a Friday afternoon. It stops in front of the American Hotel and you pay the driver 5 euros. It takes about 1 hour and lets you off about 100 meters... More
