Small group tours and private tours company. It is run by me, Terry, and I do most of the tours. I have built up a top class reputation over the years for my storytelling skills and knowledge. Taking a WOWTour is like having a friend showing you round their favourite parts of the city.

I have to say this was one of the most informative, funny and interesting walking tours I have taken. The guide is very friendly, open for conversation and questions and knows so much about the city of Amsterdam that you just can't find in any book guide. It lasted for a little bit over three hours including a coffee break,... More

"A bit of the Irish" A delightful tour in spite of the rain. This tour was full of history, currents facts and architectural details. One of the best city tours we have taken. A 5 star experience. L Q

We did the 3 hour walking tour of Amsterdam through the red light district, old church and ending near Anne Frank's old digs. Terry O'Leary, 11 years removed from Cork, Ireland and now with three babes of his own, lead us on an informative, interesting and very humorous tour of one section of Amsterdam. It is without question Terry knew... More

A friend and I took this tour In April. Really a very good "overview". I think there were 6 of us. Very nice, manageable size tour. Tour ended very close to the Anne Frank House which was great because we wanted to do that on our own. I read about a place before I travel there, but I also take... More

Terry met us at our hotel on our first day in Amsterdam, and treated us to a wonderful 4 hour ramble around the city. He is not only knowledgeable about the city and its history, but could engage with us on general history of the Netherlands and the rest of Europe. We not only saw the historic sites, but also... We had been to Amsterdam a number of times and had never done a walking tour. We had visited all the typical sights but realized there was so much more to learn historically so we decided to book a walking tour. Based on reviews and availability (we needed to book the tour on a Sunday) we choose WOW tours. We... More

Terry did a fantastic job of helping us learn so much more about Amsterdam than we'd ever get from a museum or guidebook. This was our first major walking tour ever, and we will be looking to do more of these in the future. Terry's walking tour was a recommendation from another guest at our hotel, and it was spot... My girlfriend and I recently stayed in Amsterdam for a few days. We did a number of tours, but one that truly stuck out was Wow Tours. Terry was incredible! He was so funny and interesting when discussing the history of the city. I felt like I learned so much in such a short amount of time. He describes himself... More

As a lot of other reviews, we found this to be one of the best city tours we have done. Terry takes you on a relaxed tour of the city pointing out lots of things you would miss by just reading a guide book.

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
