There are some experiences where 5 stars just don't do it justice. This is one. Until today, I have never wanted to give someone more than 5 stars. This tour deserves 10+. I discovered a side of Amsterdam that I never knew existed. So much beauty that each turn took my breath away. I am sad to leave but can't... More

Just back from our Cheese & Clog Tour led by Antoine who made the whole trip so interesting. Top marks to him! Was a bit worried about length of tour, time just flew past as was broken up with stops & such interesting facts about the Netherlands. Only negative observation was the toilet facilities at the cheese/clog farm. Another entertaining... More

Sean and Allison always answers my email and questions promptly prior to our tour day. They stores our luggage for us while we were on tour. My father-in-law was unable to join us and Sean gave him lots of information and directions as to where to spend a few hours in the city. The bike was in excellent condition. There... More

Highly recommend it, guide very knowledgeable about history and also very attentive to our safety, had a wonderful tour through part of city and then country with a real sense of how life is here; they give you rain gears and helmets upon request; bikes have purses where you can stuff sweathers or waterbottles in, some shopping can be done... I would like to start by saying I don't like riding bikes. I own one, and can ride one, but am much happier running or walking. Despite that I had a wonderful time! The bikes are maintained really well, and are surprisingly comfy for a four hour bike ride. The tour my fiancé and I did was the Windmill, Cheese... More

We decided to take a biking tour on our second day in Amsterdam. I am so glad we chose Joy Ride Tours. We learned about many historical buildings in and around Amsterdam and in the countryside. The farmhouse we visited was lovely, the shoe maker is quite a character and the cheese delicious. The weather started out warm and sunny,... More

My 13 year old daughter and I decided to try a bike tour while visiting Amsterdam. She was nervous about it, but we both ended up having a fabulous time. Our guide, Sean, was super friendly and very informative. He was so relaxed about riding through town that it helped my daughter relax as well. Even with a little rain... More

Recently went on the 'Windmill, Cheese & Clogs Tour in the Dutch Countryside' tour. It was pretty fantastic and the people were very cool. The guide was great, Sean. He's lived all over the world and really knew his stuff. We learned a great deal and his ways of relating historical facts and concepts was quite excellent. We cycled through... More

Tour is as advertised. The bikes are in great shape and the rain gear provided is a big help in the typical Amsterdam weather. A great way to see a bit of the Amsterdam countryside and learn about the region.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
