About
ARTZUID 2021 - IMAGINE: 1 July - 17 October Experience art in the public space during the 7th edition of the Amsterdam Sculpture Biennial ARTZUID. Because of Corona, a one-way walking route has been developed this year for ARTZUID 2021 and the sculptures will be positioned at least 50 metres apart from each other. The 5 km long route runs along Apollolaan and Minervalaan with offshoots to Zuidas, Churchilllaan and Stadionplein. Under the title 'Imagine', 50 sculptures by socially engaged artists will be shown, usually figurative and expressive. They are a mix of internationally renowned artists and young talent. Participating artists include KAWS, Ursula Rydingsvard, Leiko Ikamura, Joseph Klibansky, Sokari Douglas Camp, Lin May Saeed, Nelson Carillho, Arne Quinze, Klara Kristalova, Jean Marie Appriou and Tirzo Martha. For more information, tours and events please visit: artzuid.nl/biennale This exposition is free of charge and can be visited 24/7!

"Imagine" is the title of the ARTZUID 2021. It's started a little bit late than usual ( in May) but it's finally happened. This time you can see 70 works of art along the 5 km route for free. This year it takes place from 1st July to 17th October 2021.

If you are in Amsterdam this summer, check out Artzuid 2023, a biennial sculptural exhibition. Fifty sculptural works by renowned artists like Jean Dubuffet, David Hockney and Robert Indiana together with local talents Karel Appel and Frankey, among others, are on display in the Apollolaan and Minervalaan neighborhoods. This free outdoor exhibition runs through September 24th. Catch it if you can.

The ArtZuid sculpture exhibition is taking place in Amsterdam (17 May to 15 Sept 2019). This is the sixth edition of the exhibition which is held every other year. Here you find over 80 large scale exhibitions installed in the area between Minervalaan and Zuid Amsterdam. The exhibition area is open 24 hours a day.

Visit the ArtZuid website for a map with location of the various sculptures. You can also download a mobile app. which is helpful. There is an exhibition information centre and pavilion setup at Minervalaan that is open from 10am to 6pm.

Overall, we liked the sculptures found on the east-west Apollolan exhibition area more than than those found on the north-south area along Minrevalaan.

We particularly liked 19 - Yoshitomo Nara's Your Dog (2017), 20 - Elsa Tomkowiak's colourful Out (2019) installation and 25 - The Leader (2015) by Atelier van Lieshout. Plenty more sculptures of interest to occupy an hour or two of art viewing in this area of the city.

It was officially finished in September 15 and we have to wait for two years for the new Art Zuid, and it would be 2021. This year collection was the best and the route was streched out to Beatrixpark, Stadionplein and Amstelveen. The collection of the athlete was exceptional. If you like to see sculptures, come to amsterdam in 2021 between May and September.

This year's edition of ArtZuid is worth visiting. Again, the curators have managed to bring together a number of thought-provoking or just plain fun sculptures. When the weather cooperates, surely a nice way to spend some time outdoors and consumer culture!

This attraction happens once in two years. Every year is getting bigger, and this year 90 sculptures are exposed. The route is also getting longer, it is from the museum square to the south, the shopping centre "Gelderlandplein". Once in the past there was also the work of Salvador Dali, Karel Appel, Jean Tinguely, Aguste Rodin and some others. It's very interesting to see all those artwork though you're not really a sculpture lover. The centre of this activity is on the "apollolaan", in front of the Hilton Hotel. This exposition is usually from May to September. One of the artwork is exposed at the "Art Chapel", in the Beatrix park. So, the next exposition would be in 2019

I was lucky to have found a hotel nearby in the Best Western Delphi, this attraction was right in front of the hotel and spanned several blocks. It was a nice place for a quiet stroll after a busy day of sight seeing in city center. The sculptures are well displayed and interesting. I would like to come back and see how the exhibition changes next year.
