A large statue of a lady on a horse situated at a popular tourist junction. The statue is looking a bit worn and weathered now though.

This memorial stands in tribute to Queen Wilhemina, who was the Queen of Netherlands during the Second World War. The equestrian sculpture is fairly simple and depicts a younger version of the queen on a leisurely ride, sitting aside on a sidesaddle. Nice enough and a bit of history to go with it. Not a must-see, but memorial is centrally located and easy to get to…

This is an equestrian statue of Wilhemina, the Queen of the Netherlands (1890-1948). It is the works of Dutch architect Theresia Reiniera van der Pant and was unveiled at this location along Rokin in 1964. Here you find a young version of Wilhemina dressed in gown and hat and riding horseback in a leisurely manner. Its a nice depiction of Queen and is worth spending a few minutes to view for those with interest in statues and monuments who pass by this area of the city centre.…
