This memorial stands in tribute to Queen Wilhemina, who was the Queen of Netherlands during the Second World War. The equestrian sculpture is fairly simple and depicts a younger version of the queen on a leisurely ride, sitting aside on a sidesaddle. Nice enough and...More

This is an equestrian statue of Wilhemina, the Queen of the Netherlands (1890-1948). It is the works of Dutch architect Theresia Reiniera van der Pant and was unveiled at this location along Rokin in 1964. Here you find a young version of Wilhemina dressed in...More

As with several other monuments, you’ll find this statue along Rokin Street. Dedicated to the Queen of the Netherlands during her reign 1890-1948.

This statue is in a kind of out of the way place. Yet I found myself walking past it several times. It’s large and looks well done. Worth a glance.

I actually liked this statue and certainly like its meaning. I found it hard to get a good photo as where it is placed. Quite a busy area with boats, pedestrians, trains and those damn bikes. Worth visiting and love this area.

At the corner to Langebrugsteeg Alley, there is a memorial statue to Koningin Wilhemina. Quite a good photo-stop for tourist while strolling around Amsterdam.

It's not simple to take a picture with Queen Wilhelmina: quite strange position in Rokin Street at the corner with Langebrugsteeg Alley. Try to stay just 10 meters far from it if You want to make her stay inside Your photo...

Men have always tried to discredit women's achievements throughout history, and this is one of my more favorite ridiculous examples. Men didn't believe she actually was a great warrior, simply because the statue's horse had both of its legs on the right side raised at...More

Unveiled in 1972, this is the equestrian statue of Queen Wilhelmina sitting rather high up and you will come across it if you are in the Rokin area by the canal.

The wonderful equestrian statue of Queen Wilhemia on Rokin is a very eyecatching statue in the Nieuwmark area that makes for some great photographic opportunities. It's location on the corner of Rokin is very close to the canals and in an area of outstandingly beautiful...More

Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of
tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists
and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the
best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe.
Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops
of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones
Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods
such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring
