This was one of the coolest experiences in my life. The vr-game was so much fun that i had to come back few hours later to play it again. I highly recommend this location if you are looking for some fun indoors. You can come as a group or a single person. Staff is very kind an helpful.

We played the next gen game. Great levels but maybe a little bit short for each level. Wonderful gameplay and graphics.

Highly immersive game which allows you to free roam in VR whie facing zombies or aliens.

Welcoming staff that explained all the steps before the game began. It was a really rainy day so we bought coffee and tea before playing.

Greatly enjoyed it and would love to come back some day :)

Visited after a business meeting with colleagues. Part from some minor rendering issues, the game is very intense! Great visuals. Would be even more cooler if the backpack would simulate the impact when it, as the good old laser games used to do about 20 years a go. Maybe an idea for an upgrade? It would certainly make the game even more intense than it already is!

VR Arcade offers one of the most compelling virtual reality games you're likely to find in Europe, featuring the ability to free-roam within a 200 square meter space in teams of up to five during its co-op zombie-slaughtering action.

The sense of presence afforded by this ability to move freely and see your team-mates within the virtual world is impressive and far more convincing than anything you can get at home or at competing VR attractions I've been to in the Netherlands.

After my first visit to VR Arcade in September, I immediately made a new reservation for a game during my parents stay in April. There have been a few noticeable changes at VR Arcade since my first visit, and while some improvements have been made, I left feeling that the overall experience has suffered somewhat.

Firstly, whereas previously teams were guided through some PC-based VR mini-games prior to the main free-roam zombie game, the service outside of the free-roam game is now significantly diminished. Instead of being guided on three VR systems (including a racing sim), there is now only one self-service VR system. My dad wanted to try it, but the system isn't intuitive to be used by a casual gamer without assistance.

Moving on to the free-roam game, the briefing has been improved so that much of it now takes place automatically in VR as part of the game introduction. The pacing of the game has also been improved, with less waiting time between zombie waves and more action, enabling us to play more levels than my first visit, even after failing a couple of times.

Speaking of which, the difficulty also feels more balanced than before. Whereas my September game ended with no deaths and barely a scratch to any of our team of five, this certainly wasn't the case this time around. The zombies now appear faster and in larger quantities than before, making for a more intense and action-packed game for our group of five.

There have also been hardware changes too. The game now features new guns that feel heavier and thus offer slightly more realism than the previous model. The new guns are also wireless, so there is no longer a concern of them becoming disconnected from the backpack.

This is unfortunately where the improvements end. Tracking was unfortunately quite an issue in our game, and the advice of turning 360 degrees seemed to do little to alleviate the issue. For me and my dad, these tracking issues were relatively minor, such as the view angle or position being slightly off for a moment, which is slightly jarring when my view jumps as the system corrects it. This issue was present throughout most of the game; I don't remember such noticeable tracking issues in my September game.

Worse yet, the tracking went completely haywire for my mum during at least an entire level, which caused her gun to appear at the other side of the room from where her avatar was. Not only did this make the game unplayable for her during this time, but it raises some safety concerns in a game that relies on tracking your position to prevent you from hitting walls and other players in the real world. The issue did eventually correct itself, but never seemed to be working perfectly.

It is unfortunate that the diminished service for the introductory VR games and the tracking problems affect VR Arcade, because the game is still fantastic to play when it's working properly, and it's clear that they're continuously trying to improve it, with the pacing changes, introduction, difficulty tweaking, and the introduction of a new Alien game.

Despite these issues I would still highly recommend visiting VR Arcade, as it's still a lot of fun and a unique experience. I've already got my next visit booked for July, and I hope that the tracking issues will be resolved by then. Just don't expect the same level of service as described in previous reviews (including my own), and be prepared to hit that big red button on the wall when the tracking south.

Quite disappointed as I had high expectations, felt like I wasted my money and time traveling to there as it is NOT central located but on the other side of Amsterdam. Use inferior quality headsets (not the vive) and I felt dizzy as there was noticeable lag. Totally no hygiene. The guns didn't feel right in the game as it also look different, the game itself was not very convincing as the way the zombies looked and fell "dead" the bullets were not like how a real gun would shoot, just keep spraying the exact same way. It just overal looked fake. Thought it would be amazing to walk around but in the end you barely move because in the game there are obstacles and walls. I so badly wanted this experience to be awesome as I read in the reviews but was sadly disappointed, also they don't seem to care about hygiene. The drinks and the staff were quite nice.

Overall; it's a great experience, however since our last visit they have replaced the old guns with new ones but the grips on these new guns are made for kids. They use nerf-guns for their basis, and than install the control units within the nerf gun. However, the grip is simply too small for adult hands. My hands and the hands of my fellow friends are average and they are simply too big for the guns. Meaning that the grip is rather small and does not feel nice. Small hands will like the grip. The other issues we had with our group is that 1 player reported black screens frequently inside his oculus rift headset during the game, the other players gun were not responding at times and had serious issues with tracking (although all the tracking markers were present). Than also 2 players experienced lags on the displays which resulted in a game that was very bad. And the girls that were there, simply did not care.

Hi Micha, We're very sorry to hear that your experience was troublesome. The black screen and tracking issues are being handled as we speak. We haven't had any other complaints about lags on displays, but we will look into it of course! The guns we use at the moment are still beta versions, so thank you for your feedback. If you were to visit us again and these guns are still in use, please let one of our staff members know, so they can hook you up with one of the older gun models. Kind regards, De VR Arcade Amsterdam team

A great venue with few other games as well, but the VR is the best. You are in a spacious room where you can walk around, shooting zombies or aliens. The equipment is well maintained and clean. Food also good, and they sell beers etc. Will def go back!
