Our Hop on Hop off bus and boat offers you a wonderful opportunity to discover Amsterdam. The bus brings you to the most famous sights in our city: the Red Light District, the old port, the flea market, the river Amstel, the Magere Brug and the museums. You can get on or off as often as you like at the 23 centrally located stops throughout the city (Damrak, Rembrandt Square, Heineken Experience, Leidse Square, Anne Frank House).

Tip: Download our City sightseeing App for real time view of our buses and boats. And location of our stops!

We have bought 24h tickets for bus+boat online in advance. We have choosen the nearest possible stop to our hotel. For this we have used a simple city map (received in the hotel) or online available maps, so I dont really understand the other logged complains that they did not get off the bus because they did not know how... Let me start by saying, this wasn't as good as it was in Barcelona. However, the price was better. For only £28 you can go on 2 different canal routes and 1 bus route. So its a bargain when you compare it to the other tours. Plus as an added bonus, you can download an app with which contains some... More

Have been on Hop on Hop off in Dublin, Boston, New York etc. All much better than Amsterdam. Biggest problem: NOTHING to donate the stops. When I asked one of the workers how do we know where to get back on she admitted that that was a problem. Look very carefully and ask around she said!!! We didn't get off.... More

When we used this service on Sunday 23rd April it was not a good experience! Long waits, and overcrowded and infrequent buses. In short, an appetite to take money, in return for a poor service. At one point passengers were being told to stand in the stairwell, so others could get on. While this was going on an empty bus... More

We took only the boat hop on hop off (you can choose also the bus, but we rented bikes for that) The boats have an audioguide (they provide you with headphones, but I recommend BYO) You get to see the lovely amsterdam canals and learn a lot about the places and some houses. A must!

Bought a bus/boat 48hour ticket. Did a round trip on the canals which was nice, however they need for history type information i believe. Bus was good also, more frequent than other places, having the app was handy though as you could see which bus/boat was where and determine when you needed to go to what stop. The buses were... For our first day here we bought a 24 hour pass that included the bus and boat cruise. We went on 2 different cruises and also used the bus. The cruisers were relaxing and informative. The bus experience was similar although cruising is naturally more relaxing. Staff were polite and helpful right from the ticket booth to the boats/busses. I... More

The positives; I have used these buses before in UK and European Cities and previously have found them very good. We were in Amsterdam for one day and felt that this would be a good way to get around the city in a short period of time. We purchased the joint bus/ canal trip. The canal tour was good The... More

We have done many of these trips in varying cities around the world. They are usually a good way to get orientated, but sadly the Amsterdam version was very badly organised. It cost us €28 each for a combined ticket for the bus and boat and once we had paid we got in the queue, waiting for over an hour... More

Neighborhood Profile
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
