Such a great experience, we had a lovely time playing ‘the Submarine’.
Gamehost was the owner and she is so nice and enthousiastic. I could talk for hours about escaperooms if we didn’t had to go. The decoration of the room was really beautiful and puzzles are good for this theme and different from other rooms I played.

Hands down one of the best Escape Room places I’ve ever visited and I’ve visited a few. Me and my friend played both rooms and we were in awe. Both rooms are very well built, the storylines are amazing, the tricks are great and they’re both a lot of fun. Staff were also very friendly. Go try this place!

The submarine is very realistic and the different things to solve were very ingenious and fitted the subject "submarine" very well. Nice hosts, parking right in front of the door (about 15 min by car from the center of Amsterdam). Highliy recommended. We were six people (2 adults, 4 teenagers from 14 to 16) and we managed to get out in time. This was our 5th escape room.

The game is absolutely fantastic, super realistic, it’s a linear style room. Strongly recommend it!!!
Well done, we’ll be back to test the second room!

Locked.Amsterdam is an escape room located at an industrial estate in the Houthavens of Amsterdam. Due to its location at an industrial estate Locked.Amsterdam is difficult to reach by public transport. To get here one should take bus 22 from either Amsterdam Centraal or Amsterdam Sloterdijk and get off at either ‘Hempoint’ or ‘Spaardammerdijk’. From these bus stops Locked.Amsterdam can be reached in a 10 to 15-minute walk. As opposed to the public transport, Locked.Amsterdam can be easily reached by car as both highways A5 (exit 3) and A10 (exit 2) are in the direct vicinity. Furthermore, parking at the property is free of charge. Given its location at on an industrial estate, getting to Locked.Amsterdam by car might be the most convenient option.
Even though the location of Locked.Amsterdam might be slightly inconvenient, the experiences itself make more than up for this. Experiences at Locked.Amsterdam can be enjoyed in groups of two to six people and last about 120 minutes. Upon arriving make yourself known by ringing the bell. The host will welcome you and will guide you to the lounge. The lounge is very spacious and features some seating for waiting before or after an experience. Coffee, tea or water are available in the lounge, and are (or at least: seemed to be) free of charge. Additionally, the lounge features lockers for storing all your valuables. I noticed though that the lockers are a bit too small for a regular business bag, which is a point of improvement. The lounge looked fairly new with the furnishing being modern and contemporary. Compared to last year’s visit, when it was all messy and dusty, much has improved, so kudos for that!
In March 2017 I played The Submarine and was impressed by the experience. Upon announcing their new room (The Liebermann Conspiracy) I therefore didn’t hesitate and instantly booked a slot. This time we booked the 21.15 to 22.45 timeslot with a group of six persons. From the website I noticed that the slots for The Submarine and The Liebermann Conspiracy aren’t synchronous meaning that you won’t notice people playing the other experience. The correspondence from Locked.Amsterdam (e.g. booking confirmation) is rather generic and does not fit the theme of the booked room. As these little details really add up to the experience, I consider this to be a minor point of improvement. Locked.Amsterdam advises one to arrive at least ten minutes prior to the start of the slot to allow enough time to introduce the game.
Upon arrival our host, Yorick, courteously welcome us. After mentioning that we’ve played The Submarine last year, he remembered us (kudos!) and proceeded with a brief introduction of the game. The Liebermann Conspiracy builds forward on the story of journalist Hugo Laanen. After his revelations about a disappeared Russian submarine, which is the story behind The Submarine, Hugo went into hiding. From his shelter, he discovered a new conspiracy surrounding the powerful and influential Liebermann group. Foiling this conspiracy, however, brings Hugo into danger. Therefore, it is the object of your team to assist Hugo by breaking into the Liebermann Group, gathering intelligence on their objective, and foil their conspiracy. This should all happen within 90 minutes.
Upon entering the room, a video is played, displaying Hugo who provides the team detailed information regarding the challenge that is upfront as well as some instructions regarding the steps that need to be undertaken to solve the mystery. This video marks the start of the game. Without giving away too much I can say that the room features a wide variety of decoration, which all completely fits the storyline. The room features many props, all blending in naturally with the theme. Several small props, though less than in The Submarine, have been fixed into place, which might be experienced as a minor con. Even though the room has just opened, this can’t necessarily be seen from the décor, which is a good thing as it means that the room has been themed properly. Just like the décor, the puzzles and riddles fit the story line, which I consider to be a pro. The room features a number of different puzzles and riddles, adding a bit of variety to the game. The puzzles are not too easy and have been thought out very well, requiring quite some brainpower to crack. Except for one puzzle, padlocks and combination locks are nowhere to be seen in the room. Instead, the puzzles and riddles center around very innovative and technically advanced features. This is what sets Locked.Amsterdam apart from other escape room and what I consider to be a huge pro. The host may provide hints during the game. As we did not require any hints, I cannot tell anything about their format or their content. The puzzles aren’t necessarily linear meaning players can work simultaneously on solving different mysteries, which definitely is a pro. We noticed though that numerous puzzles together lead to a milestone. These milestones, of course, are linear, so it might happen that there’s just one puzzle left before reaching a milestone. Generally speaking, players can work in parallel though. The room does not feature a timer with the remaining time. Therefore, be sure to take your own watch with you for timekeeping purposes. Our team consisted of six persons. Even though this did not necessarily feel to be too big, I must admit that I lost the overview at times. Therefore, I think the ideal team size is around four or five persons. We managed to solve all the puzzles and riddles in a time of 1 hour and 5 minutes, which, according to our host, was a very fast time considering that the record time was 59 minutes! We noticed that during the game, the room tended to get quite warm, which was rather uncomfortable. As the room is still rather new, I consider this to be a point of improvement by tweaking the climate controlling.
Just like last year, we had a great time while playing The Liebermann Conspiracy. This brand-new room provides a superb sequel to The Submarine. The room has a great story backstory, and features innovative and technologically advanced puzzles, which really sets this room apart from other escape rooms. I therefore would recommend anyone who played The Submarine, to also return for The Liebermann Conspiracy. According to the owner, which we met after the game, a third room is in the works, which, hopefully will open in 1.5 years’ time. We will definitely return once this room will be opened!

Went as a team of two. We're both experienced escape room goers and we REALLY loved it! The design of the room is sublime, so the atmosphere is awesome. The puzzles show unique concepts - it's not just unlock this, and then unlock that. Overall I highly recommend it!

This was my third escape room so far and I wasn't disappointed.
We did this room with 4 people which I think is the ideal size for room. The story is compelling and the the room itself is very well build and very atmospheric in line with the story.
The puzzles were challenging but doable and lucky we managed to get out in a nice time.
They are expanding with new rooms, and we'll surely be back to try them out.

We were looking forward to this experience based on the reviews. The game zone is ok but nothing really special apart from that it has several rooms. Some puzzles are cool but couple of them were not working as expected. Also not easy to find the location of this escape room, it takes long time to get there. And when we got there it was irritating to wait until the host is done with the other team to be able to start our game.

Must be the best escape room in Amsterdam!
Two really great scenarios, the old Submarine being slightly better than the new Liebermann’s Conspiracy. The 90 minute limit will barely be enough even with the hints — prepare to think and act! And of course, have fun!
