We took a Tour with Dani and he managed to make the 2,5h fly by like nothing. On the way, we learned about history, architecture and the people of Amsterdam. We highly recommend the tour, and it is a great was to start a city trip with a Tour to get recommendations for things to so and where to go for food and drinks.
You can pay what you feel the tour was worth for you in the end, so it is also completely risk free.

This tour is one of the top things I would highly recommend if you have limited time in the city. Sebastien is an amazing storyteller. We got to experience the Amsterdam's history as well as present like never before. From his personal story as a kid to the historical stories of Amsterdam's tolerance, everything made us feel the city like we could never without such hyper local guide. And the cookies at the end were a cherry on the top.

We always do one of these 'pay what you like' tours when we hit a new city. Always lots of interesting snippets of information. This was not the most dynamic or distance covering tour I've ever done, but Jaap was entertaining and enthusiastic, and despite the gruesome weather, it was fun. Always recommend you check these tours out as a great insight to a city.

Hi Carli, I’m glad you enjoyed the tour, despite the weather. I hope you can understand that when the weather is as bad as when you attended the tour (it literally rained hard from beginning to end) we shorten the route and information given, which is why you may have felt the distance covered wasn’t very long, and the tour not as ‘dynamic’ as you may have hoped - that is very tall order when it’s raining cats a dogs :) I hope you get to experience our tour when it’s dry some day!

Myself and my husband went on this tour, it was one of our highlights of our trip to Amsterdam. Our tour guide Karol was out of this world, the knowledge and understanding of the history culture and building's this young man had is mind blowing. This company should be so proud to have Karol on their team. We would highly recommend this walking tour only with Karol and we wish him the very best in the future.

We had the BEST time on this tour. Visiting Amsterdam for the first time, we didn’t know a whole lot about the city itself so found this tour online before coming. It was the best thing we did! Sergio was so insightful and has a wealth of information to share. What was great was he made it so fun and interesting whilst still being informative. He covered so many aspects of the history of Amsterdam, from the funny to the heart-wrenching, whilst always sharing his clear love for the city. He put a smile on our faces with his quick wit and approachable manner - our only regret was not doing the tour sooner into our visit! He gave us all a postcard at the end and took a group photo which was a lovely touch. He also gave us a card with a link to his personal recommendations while in the city - this will prove to be invaluable next time we come! Such a great experience and left us on a high!

Amsterdam is lucky to have Karel as a tourguide, and so are we tourists, of course. 😊 He showed us and talked about a few of the city‘s main attractions, but revealed some less known - or to me unknown - facts about Amsterdams history as well. He owns a profound knowledge in history and is able to transport that in a witty and understandable manner.
So I learned a lot about Amsterdam in these two entertaining and enjoyable hours.
I‘m sure ghe other guided do a good job, too. But whenever you book the tip based walking tour be sure to choose Karel as your guide.

The story behind the Red Light District of Amsterdam was humorous like so many stories behind hidden Amsterdam
Overall the tour was informative , entertaining and above all brought to life by Sergio's unique style.
He kept coming up with quirky facts and anecdotes and engaged with everybody superbly.

We loved the enthusiasm of Jaap, our guide! He was knowledgeable and fun. My favourite part was the moment we stepped into a side street and he pointed out that you don’t have to go far to be in a tranquil and quiet place in this busy city! I would recommend this tour.

This is not your normal walking tour (looking at buildings and being told their age, use, etc) this tour is about Amsterdam and its humble beginnings to how it became a powerhouse in trade and an iconic merchant trade city.

Sergio the guide clearly loves his job and the passion comes through with how he explains Amsterdams history, landmarks and culture.

He is funny and very engaging.

I've learnt so much not only about Amsterdam but Dutch history also.

Thank you Sergio it was brilliant.

You need to go on this tour.

Laidback, friendly guide with tons of knowledge. Karel made us feel so comfortable to ask and find out a lot of things from him as local. He showed us the most significant parts of the city and talked about incredible Dutch history explaining it through interesting stories! Highly recommended!
