Prepare your visit: Go to the Google Play Store/Apple Store and download the IZI.TRAVEL app. Open the izi.TRAVEL app en click on the compass button on the lower left side of your screen. Type in 'Aalsmeer' via the search bar and open the Royal FloraHolland audiotour. Have fun! Our location at Aalsmeer is the largest trading centre for plants and flowers in the world. And it's just a stone's throw from Schiphol airport. The earlier you get here, the more you see. From the Visitor Centre, walk across a gallery through the auction complex. At the end of the gallery, you'll arrive at the auction halls where you'll see the flowers come before the auction clock. As you walk around, you'll find information panels which explain - in four languages - the auction process and the activities you'll be watching. There's no need to sign up for this tour in advance. You can also explore the auction with a professional guide. Reservation on the website, extra charge.

This was truly a extraordinary experience. To watch the organization and precision the system works was awe-inspiring. Amazing variety of flowers to be seen. We planned to do a walk trough in 2 hours, but ended up spending 4 hours. The staff was friendly and explained in detail how the auction is operated, which help us to understand the bidding wheel. I went early in the morning with a group of visitors from India. During that time there's a lot of activity in the auction and a lot of goods available for auctioning. The size, the logistics and that all with these beautiful products is definitely worth a visit.

We loved the visit that we took from central Amsterdam to Aalsmeer. My husband and I took the bus from central station and it drops you off right at the flower auction. It was a great visual experience, there is an audio tour apparently available with wifi, but the wifi was not working inside the flower warehouse. A lot of... More

The audiotour: You first have to download the app IZI travel. (Playstore) Then you fill in Aalsmeer. Then you download the tour before you do the tour. You use our free WIFI and download the tour in your cellphone before you go in. Then you don't use roaming! And the more early you are here the more you will see... More

We took the transit bus out to FloraHolland at 6 AM and arrived before 7, which is the earliest the public is admitted and the recommended time to arrive. The bus ride took a little under 45 minutes to and from and was a wonderful way to experience the local folks commuting and running errands. The self-guided tour itself was... More

Ironically we visited Royal FloraHolland on 1 September - which is Spring Day for us in South Africa. We started the tour very early in the morning and were taken through the full process of how flowers are received, sorted, sold and distributed. Brilliant business model centered around helping their members and partners prosper! Insightful visit

This is a very enlightening tour to see how many flowers go thru this auction every day. It's fun just to watch all the flowers being moved around so quickly. We never knew the process a flower goes through to get to your vase.

We've been here twice now, its definitely worth the early wake up! They open for visitors at seven, its our recommendation that you should be there at seven, the earlier you're the more flowers you can see! The interactive app is worth downloading(it's free). It's amazing to see all those flowers been driven around and the diversity in sheer number... More

This is the largest flower auction of the world. If you're interested to see an important sector of the Dutch economy in motion, visit this place. Be present as early as possible (visitor centre opens at 7.00 am). Trading flowers is for early birds. Free parking (#23) on top of the buidling. Prepare for a good walk as the auction... More

We totally agree with all the posters here that this flower auction is not to be missed. Do arrive as early as you can, we were there at 7 when the doors opened and stayed until 9:30. The action had definitely calmed down by then, so go early. I do disagree about the public transportation, we got the bus (172)... More
