My wife, son and I rode our bikes from our home in Eindhoven to this unique bike path. It was pretty easy 6km ride to the path from just south of centrum.

I was less than impressed. The path was pretty short, only about 600m cutting thru some farm land. The path was not maintained and had lots of mud, leaves and old cut grass covering the edges.

The lights in the path were pretty. But there are no other significant sites to see around the immediate area so being there after sun has set had to be purposeful.

The pictures online look way better than in person. Glad we went since it's close but would not be high on my recommendation list.

We went to se the van Gough bike path, and then we took the Lichtesroute back in October. I can recommend to do them combined if you are on a bike. If not the van Gough is so isolated, away from the city and short that I would recommend taking the car, park and walk back and forth. Then it's worth a visit since it's unique. Otherwise not. The Lichtesroute is 24th of Sep to 24th of Oct.

This is one of the hidden gems in eindhoven. Enjoy the path in dark, it was a beautiful experience. You could ride a bike or you could also walk on the path.

The Van Gough museum experience gave us an opportunity to look into the personal life of the artist. We visited the house where he painted the potato eaters and learned it burned down and rebuilt on the same spot. Current ancestors of the potato eaters reside there.

Awful, we cycled for 42 minutes to get there, arrived somehow by the rear entrance, cycled to the end not realising that we had in fact just cycled the path, turned our lights out, and could just about make it out in certain sections.
What a waste of time, maybe we were expecting more than going down a pitch black path in the middle of nowhere with not another person in sight.

We expected a number of people around on a Saturday evening, not even anywhere to get a coffee.

We have chosen to go and check this place, and took a bus from the city centre. It is outside of the city, pretty remote, with almost no signs showing where it is. It looks really good, the sunset was beautiful, however we couldn't wait until it got dark.

It can be very romantic!

This was one of the things I was most looking forward to seeing so perhaps that's why I ended up being really disappointed. Firstly, it is quite a way outside of the city centre and when you get there it hardly lights up at all and it is only in a few places along the whole pathway. It's also very difficult to get good photos as it's pitch black on the pathway and the effect completely disappears when you use your flash. When you don't use your flash you then have trouble picking up the effect on camera. Luckily I took around 30 different shots and ended up with around 4 good ones. It wasn't at all what I was expecting.
