We had booked a tour for a group of friends. Friendly welcome at this wine estate, built from the local marlstone. The location on a hill with a wide view, amidst the vineyards, is beautiful. Our guide Paul gave an excellent, informative tour, during which we also visited the basement. Afterwards there was a large table under the umbrella in the attractive courtyard, where we got to taste 3 different white wines. These can be purchased on site. Parking can be a challenge when there are multiple groups, such as on our Saturday. Reservation necessary. Highly recommended.

Apostelhoeve was one of the first to revive Dutch wine growing. They are good at it and they use top technology to produce a range of white wines from different grape races. The bottles are more expensive than their French, German and Austrian and Italian counterparts, but they are well worth the price difference.
It doesn't end there. The view from the farm is wonderful. Announce your visit and you can opt for a wine tasting party that will put a very big grin on your face. The owners and staff are very pleasant indeed, always ready to explain or exchange opinions. Bring lots of enthusiasm for wine and someone sober to drive you back.

We enjoyed a wine excursion at this vineyard which is located on the outskirts of Maastricht close to Kanne and neighbouring Belgium. The vineyard is located on a slope with beautiful views over Maastricht. We learnt about the area, the vineyard, how to make wine and enjoyed a few glasses of white wine at the end of the tour. I can recommend this tour but you can also pay a visit to farm and buy some wine here, there are open for business most days of the week.

This tour to Apostelhoeve was well organised and entertaining. Wonderful situation just in the outskirts of Maastricht looking out over the vineyards to the border with Belgium
The owners and staff are very welcoming and engaging. It was just a little chilly for us to sit outside and sip our white wine selection during our visit but I could see myself returning and doing just that on a warm summer's day.

While in the area we stopped by this vineyard to buy some wine. While you need to make an advanced reservation for a wine tasting, their shop is always open to buy wine, which we did this time. The vineyard is located on the outskirts of Maastricht towards Kanne in neighbouring Belgium. While the Apostelhoeve vineyard is located on a hill the other Hoeve Nekum is situated down the road and only open for advanced wine tastings. Afterwards we enjoyed a quick stroll through vineyard from where you have some beautiful views over Maastricht.

I keep coming back; these folk sell almost all their wine every year, so if you want some, you just have to visit. An appointment would please them

Our romantic weekend getaway to Maastricht would not be complete without a stop at this lovely vineyard. We love enjoying good wine. And, this was our first experience with Dutch wine, even though my partner is a native. Because it was just the two of us, we did not have a group big enough for the full tour. But, the proprietor was very gracious in letting us do a mini taste test and walk around the vineyard a bit. We left with two lovely bottles of wine and a great memory! Thank you!

Hoi!
