- Henrik W12 contributionsGreat Views and a nice TourWe took a guided Tour in late September. Our Guide was Frank, a very humble, friendly and nice Guide. He had great knowledge of Fort Sint Peter and Maastricht. You get some great views of Maastricht and the surrounding Area. The Tour took approx. 1 Hour. It is quite Cold in the Tunnels and in the Fort and you should wear some proper shoes because you will walk some stairs and most of the time the floor is just compressed, uneven clay with water puddles at a lot of places. I recommend this for everyone who is visiting Maastricht.Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten September 26, 2023
- Scooby181260 contributionsFascinating tourWe had a lovely guide for our English speaking tour on 25/10/2023. I can’t remember his name but it translated to ‘God given’ and he brought the fort to light on dreary, wet day. It was fascinating to walk through the tunnels of the fort and get an explanation of its history. This tour along with the mine tour was just €28 which made it well worth a visit.Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 25, 2023
- Saul Tartaglia54 contributionsGreat tour and historical place of the city!It was a great experience altogether!!! The place itself is quite impressive and one of the highlights of the city of Maastricht! Our tour guide, Ton, was really good and funny! He answered all questions and knew what he was talking about. One must be prepared to go up the hill to get to this place, and if it is a rainy day, bring an umbrella! Part of the tour goes outside for a bit.Visited April 2024Traveled with friendsWritten April 2, 2024
- Dries B1 contributionWonderful tour with passionate guideVery interesting and insightful tour! I visited a few forts before but the experience of going from shoulder to shoulder in the network of tunnels underneath was a fascinating first. The guide, Willy, was passionate about the fort and its history and gave the tour with a healthy dose of humour. Just don't visit when you are called Jean-Pierre ;)Visited June 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten June 15, 2024
- Niels RVelp, The Netherlands27 contributionsFun ‘private’ tour with WimTwo friends and I arrived at Fort Sint Pieter and it turned out we were the only visitors! Therefore, tour guide Wim treated us to a private tour of the fortress. We learned all about its history and explored the hallways and even some parts that are normally skipped. Wim was knowledgeable and humorous; he kept our attention for the full hour. Recommended for anyone interested in the history of the city and its relationships with its neighbours.Visited July 2024Traveled with friendsWritten July 22, 2024

Our tour of the tunnels underneath Fort Sint Pieter was the best part of our visit to Maastricht. Simone was our tour guide and she kept my children (5yo and 9yo) enthralled for 1.5 hours with her fast pace, engaging style, and plentiful stories. We got to experience walking in the tunnels in the pitch dark, we covered a lot of ground without being rushed, and the pièce de résistance was the dinosaur artworks, which my son loved. Really insightful, informative, and fun tour, and great value for money. Thanks Simone for taking the trouble to personalize our experience!

Egbert our tour guide took all our attention, and later answered all the questions.
It was really fun, but also super informative.
We have combined the fort tour with the limestone mine tour (undergrounds), thus it was great to climb up to the sun after an hour of being in the cold and dark :)
I strongly recommend visiting the fort and the neighborhood, as the view is stunning, and there is plenty of place to walk.

I dislike guided tours in general but I was blown away by this one. What a pleasure it was to listen and observe our tour guide Ernest. He was passionate and electric, knowing and curious. Everything you look for in a tour guide! He was able to paint us a visual picture in a really approachable way. Not a single second of the tour was boring.
I truly wish all tour guides were like Ernest! If I could, I would like him to join us in our tour around Netherlands just because of how vibrant he was and how it transformed everything we had the luxury of hearing.

Very interesting and exciting adventure.
The guided tour is very well worth the time and money.
The two tour guides were very kind, funny and it showed they know about the history of the fort and the city. They made the tour even more interesting and fun.
At the end of the tour you get a beautiful view of Maastricht, some more interesting facts, and the opportunity to take some amazing photos.
If you begin your city tour here, you will know where to go in Maastricht and what to see afterwards, so it is best to begin here and then explore the city.
The shop has some nice little gifts and the shopkeeper was very kind and helpful as well.
Everyone spoke english perfectly.

I had a double-tour with my couple 2 weeks ago. We visited the Fort with Wim V. and the north caves with Jack. Both experienced guys and very knowledgeable about Maastricht and the mount itself. Very interesting to have such tours with local guides who know so much about the local history and who are passionate about what they do. I really recommend to take these tours rather than just go to the mount on your own, it makes the joruney more enjoyable. In addition, I belive doing both tours is better because they are quite complementary.

Our guide, Willy, was a great source of information on the one hour + tour of the fort and it’s underground tunnels. It was really interesting to learn about the fort and its role in Maastricht’s history over the years. Great views over the city and surroundings.

If you arrive by train, its a 30-min 1.7 mile walk to the fort. But its a lovely town and worth it- just plan for it.
Only a few English tours each day so plan ahead or be prepared to wait for the next available one.
Very good value and worth the trip to Maastrict. Don't miss the information museum in the bunker near the meeting spot for the tour.
You get a small lamp but I wish I would have brought my own flashlight for lighting very deep rooms.

We took a guided tour of Fort Sint Pieter for our family of 2 adults and 6 children (8 to 14 years old). Everyone loved it. Tom is a great guide that takes you through a few centuries of military history with very interesting details and plenty of humor. We had a great time!

We visited Fort Sint Peter after a bike ride. A nice restaurant for a coffee and vlaai and lunch later followed by the 12:45 English tour. What a surprising visit. A very nice tour guide that managed to bring the sparsely furnished fortifications to life with great stories of the late 17th and late 18th century. A very interesting place with a lot of history.
