Ideal for rainy days
Nov 2018 • Family
This is a HUGE indoor play area with the usual soft play climbing frame, but also trampolines, carousel, dodgems, boats, log flume, roller coaster, slides, air pillow and much more. Food is cheap, but you can also take your own food inside if you like. Sometimes you can get cheaper tickets on Social Deal or at the local VVV (tourist information office). Avoid going on hot days as it gets exceedingly hot in there. Always best to go when the weather outside is poor as you are guaranteed to be dry! Take spare socks with, for the end of your session, because the kids will most likely take off their shoes, run around and get filthy feet/socks. There is tons of seating for the grown ups.

Perfect for a rainy day
Mar 2019 • Family
If you're looking for a place to go with the kids on a rainy day - look no further.
There's just so much to do here... We came in the morning and my son wouldn't let us leave before they closed and had to kick us out :)
There's not much regulations on the rides, but I didn't feel like it was such a bad thing. After all, the parents are there and if something needs to be said, they say it. There are staff attendants regulating the line on the 2 rollercoasters, which is where it really matters. I thought it was enough, but I could see how people might think more is needed.
We brought our own food and drinks from home, but since we ended up staying way longer than I planned, we also bought food there. Prices are pretty cheap, especially if you compare to other indoor playgrounds in the area.
Small tip - always check the Dutch Groupon website before going. They often have discounts on tickets. We paid 7 Euro per person with the coupon.

Low budget with safety issues
Oct 2018 • Family
This review is in English so the Germans (majority of people while I was there) can also understand.

Kinderstad Heerlen is a large hall with multiple rides interesting for kids in the age range of 4 - 10-ish. Older kids most likely be bored after 30 minutes.

The big problem with KSH is that, I assume either due to staffing problems or money issues, there is a lack of supervision. There is a central “control” room which observes the rides and constantly shouts in Dutch/German when a unwanted behavior is shown (stop rocking the boat/no standing etc.). Very hard to understand which results in more shouting.
Even the bigger bumper karts were unsupervised which resulted in parent taking matters into own hand which resulted in the bumper karts automatically switching on and bumping against people who are on “road” trying to chase away the bigger kids who do not get out of the karts...
During my visit on October 26th I encounterd two seriously dangerous situations....a shame, rides of these sizes should be monitored.

Black soles of feet just mean you've had a great time.

€9. That's all.

Per person, €9 got us an afternoon of huge smiles, sweat, laughs and happy memories.

See, I'd looked up Kinderstadt on TA and was a little concerned about some of the negativity. So a mixture of curiosity and otherwise lack of better kid-entertainment-ideas took our family to Kinderstadt Heerlen.

And I'm so glad it did.

Top tip, straight out of the bag, go during the school days. Weekends and holidays I can imagine being hectic, but for us a non-descript Thursday was just ideal.

The entry cost was just €9 Per person. After that, all major rides and attractions are included. There was little our 3 year old could not do. Rides include a small roller coaster, a mini log flume (on which you DO get wet), slides, canvas climbing towers (much harder than they look), big and mini bumper cars, HUGE soft play frame, carousel, trampolines, motion simulator and jumping cushion - which is massive.

There are few attendants, even fewer rules placards and just kids having a great time.

Food and drinks are purchased here using their own coinage. €1.50 Per token or 7 tokens for €10. Each food or drink item typically costs one token and the choice is typical of what one may find in a coin-op snack-hatch - burgers, frikkadels, croquettes and the like. But as many others here have noted you may bring your own food and drinks in. So we did that.

In fact, the only thing you'd need currency for once in here is conversion to tokens or for coin-op arcades. Best of all, the claw games are ALL prize-every-time jobs. €2 gets you a small-ish tiger and a big smile.

Would I go back? Absolutely. Without a doubt. Parking would've been €1.50 (payable on exit) but the place is only a 10-min straight walk from Heerlen station. So we did that and our youngest fell asleep on the bus home.

Again.

Great for adventurous 5-9 yr olds on a wet day
Aug 2018 • Family
Large indoor play centre with a surprising amount of activities including a mini-rollercoaster, mini-log flume, dodgems and flight simulator. Also has several carousels, a soft play climbing area, a trampoline park and the biggest air pillow I’ve ever seen. It’s a little grubby but no worse than any equivalent play barn in the UK.
All of the above are included in the entry price - €9 per person seems very fair for the children most of the activities are aimed at - those aged between 5-9 - but less so for toddlers who can’t access half the activities or parents who let’s face it, are using the visit as a chance for a rest. Being charged to exit the car park was a nice final touch! We left with mixed feelings - my elder kids loved it, my little one less so and I felt slightly relaxed but quite out of pocket for the experience. To be fair they are happy for you to take your own food and drink in rather than buying their offerings, so it could have been much worse. Definitely worth it if you’re at a loose end on a wet day in Heerlen.

Nice park for a day out (when weather is bad...)
Nov 2017 • Family
It is a very big park with numerous attractions for the children.
The quality and the prices for food and beverages are reasonable.
The parking is very big and very cheap for the dutch standards (1 euro).
In weekend can get very crowded but in general there are lots of tables and chairs for the parents to rest while children have fun.

The cleanliness could be improved...

The best place ever, according to my 7&9 year old
Apr 2017 • Family
My children loved every second of their time spent here. There are many areas to play in but keep in mind that not all are supervised by staff.
You can bring in your own food and drink and there is plenty of seating available.
The kids socks/feet were black when we came out so a bath is a must after this visit!!

Big indoor place
Mar 2017 • Family
Biggest once I have met so far; although a lot of people inside you can still have place to do activities. And they are diverse: small montagne russe, boats on water, tramboulines, big inflatable trambouline, electric cars (small and large), big playground with nets. Pay attention though to the big inflatable trambouline as it gets dangerous when adults or big kids climb on it - it will descend, bringing kids one on top of the others.

Great place to entertain the kids
Feb 2017 • Family
Great place to entertain the kids come rain or shine. New attractions on this visit which is nice, a race car simulator. The kids love it. It is pretty dirty though. Really needs a good clean and the toilets should be inspected more often. Throw the kids in the bath when they get home! 🙂👍

Fun for all
Dec 2016 • Family
Really good fun for all the family!
You need to buy tokens for food & drinks which can work out pricey, but you are able to take your own picnics to eat there.
Plenty of seating for the adults.
Half price tickets from Social Deal make it a bargain day out!!
