It is just a couple of minutes walking from Martinitoren and busy Market Square. But the atmosphere is already totally different. I went there on a hot sunny day and the garden makes me so peaceful and relax. A true beauty of the city if you are looking for a small place to walk around and run away from crowd.

Just outside the city centre there is this garden, there's a wall around it, so you don't see it at once, but it is worth a visit. Take a walk around the garden en sit on a bench and just enjoy the quiet in the middle of the city bustle or have a cup of tea at the teahouse.

Not that many people know about this place. I consider it a great place to get away from the crowd. It has a nice teahouse and you can stroll through the lovely garden.

We had a car in Groningen and were fortunate to find a small parking space just across the road from the entrance next to the canal. This is a quiet and restful place right in the middle of a busy city, and the high walls ensure that you can relax in peace. While we did not spend much time here,... More

A Dutch version of an oasis, this place is a piece of quiet heaven in a happening city. Beautiful flowers and gardens with the remnants of medieval buildings, once occupied by Dutch princes. The sundial is among the oldest and nicest preserved. I attended the 'gymnasium' across the street more than 50 year ago. It was blissful to revisit this... More

the non profit cafe was a regular meeting spot for me and my friends (moved to another city now). The gardens are beautiful and it's worthwhile to enjoy the atmosphere while sipping one of the thirty varieties of tea with a good apple cake.

I found this lovely place on the recommendation of a local shopkeeper. I really enjoyed walking around here and taking photos. It's very picturesque. I love the sundial.

The gardens are very well conserved. The bush and flowers were beautiful. There is a sun clock still working that is cool to see

Small but very pretty. Quiet and relaxing. You can sit at one of the tables and have a drink there and listen to the church bells. They go on and on at the 12 o'clock noon ringing.

The Prinsenhof Gardens are located with the Old City of Groningen. Consider them a jewel withing a busy city. On the day I visited the roses were "off", but that did not diminish the ability to appreciate them. Many flowers, paths, and the opportunity to enjoy a combination of art and nature. Please visit.
