The Park is located next to the museum, on a part where once stood a castle... in the park you can now find two ruins... of which one was not accessible... (the chapel). The only really interesting thing here is that you have a great view on the river.... apart from that there isn't much else to see....

This little park is worth a visit for the lovely view of the Waal river-front. There is an interesting ruin, a World War 2 German bunker which one can enter should one wish to, and a beautifully restored old chapel which is used for exhibitions etc. When we visited, there was an exhibition on Our Lady. We sat in this... More

Quaint park with some old archeological remnants. Nice views. Short walk around is pleasant. It does not take much time but is worth it.

If you have free time on your hand, take a walk through this park. There is a chapel in the middle. Good, but it could be cleaner and better.

It is a nice old park in the city center with a lot of history. It once was a castle which was destroyed by angry citizens. Halfway through the angry mob found out that some of the things in the castle were privately owned by someone, so they left those structures alone. These still stand today: the old chapel and... It is located in the center of Nijmegen, close to the Valkhof Museum and the river called the Waal. You can also go inside a beautiful old church. It is "uphill", meaning you get a good view.

As a child I visited this park because of the beautiful view one has of the Waalbrug and the Waal river. But now, many years later, the building is totally renovated and it is beautiful inside. I was so impressed and I loved it! Definitely a must see when you are in Nijmegen. The trees are also enormous and the... More

I was here in Nijmegen central by chance and saw this open space theater event, can't help but to walk in the park to take a look. I wasn't disappointed in fact this charming little park is really good place to chill, sit, and relax. There is a nice view overlooking the Waal River. There are plenty of cafes and... More

The Valkhofpark you simply can't miss when visiting Nijmegen. History in the centre of the eldest city in the Netherlands is here to be found, along with lawns to sit - there are benches available when sitting on a lawn isn't comfortable for you - or lay down, share a picknick or a drink, shadowy if you'd prefer, it will...
