For months we were waiting for this open-air concert by American Superstar Bruce Springsteen. In the Gofferpark near Nijmegen in the Netherlands this took place on 27.06.24. Everything was very well organized by the operator đź‘Ť with 60000 visitors announced at the end. Enough drinks and snacks stalls. Toilets sufficiently available. What you have to accept with the amount of visitors are of course the tightness but it was ok. Bruce Springsteen played many hits there was a great atmosphere.
Gladly again

We stayed on an old barge near the bridge in Nijmegen. We had a really nice evening walking around the city centre. We shared a portion of 'frites and mayonnaise' in the pedestrian area and visited a couple of bars before having satay in a restaurant near the cathedral. Felt safe throughout with friendly people wherever we went.

Beautiful city full of history. Despite being bombed and destroyed in the second world war. Make sure to visit the waterfront, the old district and charming shopping area. The market on Saturday is nice to visit.

A small town and you don't have much to do or to see. Is nice on the new year's eve that there are a lot of firework near the lake. In the city center are a lot of pubs or restaurants.
The program at the restaurants are not that long. If you want to have a bite after 22pm you will find only Mc donalds

On the whole, our visit to Nijmegen was fine but it doesn’t carry the same enchanting characteristics as 's-Hertogenbosch nor Arnhem. There is some beauty in the old square and cobbled streets near to Kronenburgerpark, but it isn’t as large a town or as visually stunning. There are streets designed for retail therapy and newer areas where its buildings are more contemporary as a result of Bombardement op Nijmegen in 1944. Not a place to completely rule out, however.

I enjoyed a city sightseeing by walking for a day. Most of the sites are located in a city center and reachable by foot.
- St. Stephen’s Church is simple and religious, climbing up to the top is fun.
- walking around along the Main Street is really fun to stop by at food trucks and shops, see historical buildings.
- if you get tired, Valkhof park is a nice park to relax. You can see the ruin of the church there.
- the central station area shows a typical Netherlandish things.. bicycle lanes with signals for bicycles. I loved bicycle stoppers near the station. uploaded the photo.
- I regret I couldn’t see muZIEum. Better to book ahead. I jumped in when it opened in the morning but told fully booked for the Saturday.
Please walk a lot energetically, then you’ll find the charms of this pretty city a lot!

One of the oldest cities in the Netherlands, Nijmegen offers a lot for a day trip (and is also a very pleasant place to stay in). The center is very nice and with great architecture, it has a quaint feeling to it, and it is also historically relevant due to the Waalbrug.

A must-do, besides just walking around the streets, is to see the muZIEum, a museum in which you can experience how it is to be a blind person through a guided tour in darkness led by a blind person. It's a moving experience and takes 1 hour only.

It was interesting for me, no one early in the morning, so crowdy during the weekend. A lot of bicycles, flowers, canals..i like it.

Lived here for nine years during and after studying at the local university, and go back often because my daughter now goes to college there. Beautiful city on the river, warm and welcoming. Especially recommended during the third week of summer when it hosts the Four Day Marches accompanied with activities all around town. I also personally consider the surroundings of Nijmegen as one of the most beautiful areas (Groesbeek, Berg en Dal, etc), and it is adjacent to the German border. Cologne is about 90 minutes away by car. If you have the chance, don't miss it. You'll feel right at home.
