we enjoyed walking around the village and the kids activities. it was fun but when it came to 12:30 we were amazed to discover they only sell sweet and baked sweet pastry. we had to find somewhere to eat. With very young hungry kids (3.3 and 1.5) it was a bit annoying.

I have visited many open-air museums abroad but without being chauvinistic this one remains the best!

The houses represented the area in Holland but not all At the East Groningen farm house, there I have more impression... More

Went to the open air museum, having known nothing about it, prior to looking up things to do in Arnhem, where we were spending one night in our campervan. The museum covers a large area, there's old trams that you can go round the site in. They cover a circular route. The buildings themselves are amazing to wander about in... More

This open-air museum covers the history and heritage of the Netherlands, from early days to more recent times. Just too bad that performances are only in Dutch (at least the ones I saw when I was there). It's quite a large museum, but there's a tram riding with several stops so you can get to all parts easily.

Best way to learn more about ancient Holland and all its districts and experience the old trades. Forget the history book....this is the real thing.

Really good place to visit with kids. They have a lot of things to see, is difficult to cover everything in one day :) You can find some food bars etc. Highly recommend to visit in warm months.
