This was the royal home of the past King and Queens of the Netherlands and it had quite a history. Most interesting was that it had a zoo on the grounds with giraffes, monkeys and all sorts of exotic birds. It has an interesting hunting room as well. Other rooms were atypical of a royal compound and the gardens were... More

ENjoyed the grounds walking around, and the palace itself is in fine condition. Was a cold winter day, so not many people around. Wonderful art and furnishings inside. After, walk half block and have a drink at the beautiful Bildergerg Hotel.

Paleis Het Loo is central to Dutch royal (and hence national) history. It is set up as a museum these days and there is loads to see in every room. We arrived just in time for the (free) guided tour. This was in Dutch but there are English tours as well, though I don't think they're free. Our guide was... More

Het Loo is well looked after inside and out. The wonderful gardens are a sight to behold and very extensive. History is well preserved in the palace rooms and stables but the highlight for me is the garden.

Palace Het Loo in Apeldoorn a wonderful place, unique nature with a very large and beautiful palace park. If you want to see everything: the Palace, the gardens, the park and the royal domain, you do not have enough for one day. Very nice also for children, princesses day with horse carriage rides and games. The guides at the Palace... More

Paleis Het Loo is a museum about the history of the dutch royals who lived here. It is very interesting and educational. There are two restaurants, there are stables and the garden and the park are really beautiful.

Excellent experience the Palace really give you an idea of the Royal Dutch family. Everything is preserved in excellent condition, and in spring I think you could appreciate even more all the park and the gardens

We are from Williamsburg, VA the home of the College of William and Mary. This is the same William and Mary who built Het Loo. So we had a special interest in seeing the palace. We took an early morning train from Amsterdam and arrived at the opening for the day. We enjoyed the audioguide tour and the fact that... More

A must see for people who visit the Veluwe. I believe it will be closed for renovations soon (2017), you should check the website. They have a stunning garden en always a special exhibition about royalty, be it local or international.
