We are from Williamsburg, VA the home of the College of William and Mary. This is the same William and Mary who built Het Loo. So we had a special interest in seeing the palace. We took an early morning train from Amsterdam and arrived at the opening for the day. We enjoyed the audioguide tour and the fact that... More

A must see for people who visit the Veluwe. I believe it will be closed for renovations soon (2017), you should check the website. They have a stunning garden en always a special exhibition about royalty, be it local or international.

It's an incredibly interesting place for those interested in Dutch history, although English and French rulers have also lived and/or stayed here. It's also a very beautiful place, with all the expected opulence of a palace and some nice formal gardens. It's possible to get through in an hour or so but I'd recommend setting aside a few hours at... More

If you want to learn and see some Dutch history this is the place to be: the old royal family palace. Very well taken care, very well organized. And because it was winter you could even ice skate. It worth almost a complete day visit. Best or second best museum in Holland (and not typical Amsterdam tourist attraction!).

Het Loo is a beautiful palace. Full of history of the first Dutch kings in the 19th century. The exhibition of Anna Paulowna's furniture, juwels etc. is interesting. (This exhibiton of Anna Paulowna is not permanent.) In the summer we will be back to visit the palace itself.

Actually went there just to see the gardens but was totally awed by the whole palace itself. The tickets are being sold at their glass room which is located a bit across the Palace. The place around the palace was also big and felt serene. Felt like it would be a good venue for a wedding. The rooms in the... More
