Reservations are required for this tour, but it is worth the effort. Besides a self-guided information area where you look at photos and read about its history, there is a short video that further explains the court and how it functions. We were also able to sit in a glassed in gallery to view the court in action. It was... More

If you have any interest in legal or international affairs you will easily recognize this institution. I took the train from Amsterdam and with almost no-dutch arrived easily. There are two entrances. The main entrance and the side entrance. The side entrance on the left is where you will be able to follow a court proceeding through a glass window.... More

My girlfriend and I went here on our city break to Amsterdam. First of all, you need to book this a month to two months in advance (we emailed a month before and managed to get a slot thankfully). It is free. We got the train from Amsterdam Central to Den Haag Laan v NOI. This costed €20 each for... More

The place is very badly signed and instructions to visitors prior to arrival are poor. The security staff that received me was really rude. But if you manage to overcome these challenges, this place is a nice one. Internal staff are much more polite, and the Court itself has a rich if recent history.

not knowing that so close to my house is this ICC. there is a possibility to visit and attend a hearing - after appointment. in the nearest future this court will move to another locatieontwikkelaar in the hague.

We got the full works; information background, tour and presentation and invited to see one of the tribunals being held (unfortunately it got cancelled at the last minute). As far as I know, the ICC is open for the general population!

It is a humbling experience. As a perk of being a sports writer on World Cup hockey in Den Haag, we were taken to the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia. That's where the trial of Mr. Ratko Mladic was going. That day, a lady who lost her two sons was giving her story. She knew the sons were... More

I visited the ICC with my school from NYU because we were studying the war crimes tribunal of the former Yugoslavia and we wanted to visit this famous court. The guests and tour guide were amazing. I viewed the trial of Jean Pierre Bemba of the DRC who is charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity in the CAR.... More

Monday The plane touched down in Amsterdam around quarter past 9 in the evening. We didn’t waste time and got straight on the train to Den Haag where our hostel was. We stayed in Stayokay Den Haag, a chain which I thoroughly recommend. Almost hotel-like, which appealed to me. We arrived, we unpacked and made our beds then met back... More
