Just FYI: I am trying to understand why this establishment is listed as a tourist attraction instead of a food & drink joint. I've been to the Joyce a few times while living in Zurich, and it is a really nice pub with a pretty decent menu. I thought the burger was particularly goo, and the prices are on par... More

I have a rule which I don't always keep, not to visit Irish pubs when abroad. However I was tempted into the James Joyce when passing by and noticing the wood panelled interior. This is a lovely pub with a great atmosphere and a wonderful history. One of the very professional staff kindly gave me a book about the history... More

Not a pub, not a restaurant but a bar that serves a great burger (and other food). Close to Rennweg tram stop this friendly bar boasts the best burgers in Zurich. Good range of ubiquitous beers from Boddingtons and Guiness to Schneider Weiss and Hurlimans.

Always a good place to meet some friends, for a bite of great food and a few drinks. Lovely location not far from Bahnhoffstrasse, and excellent service.

We met for drinks at the James Joyce and were pleasantly surprised by the friendly service, and good food, in a calm and relaxed environment. It's more towards a restaurant than a pub though, with table service and less standing room. Burger was decent, as were the beers. Good for a visit.

The Zurich James Joyce Foundation was located just across the Bahnhofstrasse from the James Joyce Pub, and we all knew this pub had been brought over stick by stone from Dublin. Having more money now than I did then, I stopped in for--no, not a Guiness, but a Brooklyn Lager--when I was in Zurich on business. The second night I... More

I had tried on a number of previous visits to Zurich to visit this bar but without success. It must have the strangest opening hours of any Irish pub in the world: closed at 6.00 p.m. on Saturday and all day Sunday! But this time I made it. The interior of the bar was taken form the old Jury's hotel... More

If you really want a great burger, a great beer and great atmosphere, this is a very nice stop. Lots of bankers after work ours, so call ahead for a table. During the summers, tables outside are even better.
