We had a great time during our tour. Our guide, Esther, was awesome! She was very knowledgeable of the history of the city and explained everything with lots of details. It was a pleasure to learn so much about Zurich in the two hours the tour takes, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to learn a little bit more about the city. Of course, being a free tour means you don’t need to pay a fee, but it’s really recommended to leave a good tip to the guide. They will always appreciate it, especially when they make these two hours run by so fast with the amount of interesting information you get during that time.

My husband and I, along with dear friends of ours from Maryland, spent last Friday morning with Josef, our tour guide.from FWZ. Our interest was in learning more about the Jewish history of Zurich, and Switzerland in general, and Josef was the perfect resource! He had extensive knowledge of Jewish life, both past and present, his english was impeccable, and he was warm and engaging. I highly recommend him for anyone interested in learning more about Jewish life in Zurich, as well as general history of the city. We have traveled extensively, and often hire a guide whose focus is on the Jewish history of whichever city we are in. Josef was a real standout!

This was a great background for Day 1 of Zurich. Thoroughly enjoyed the areas walked in and explored. The group was big (a Saturday, maybe that meant larger) and background noise was loud. The group was split into 2 english and 1 spanish. We joined 1 english (with more historical data) but could not hear the presenter. We then hurriedly joined the 2nd english speaker, who had a louder voice. Thoroughly enjoyed his presentation throughout the tour.

Always recommend starting with a free walking tour to get your sense of the city when you arrive.

We did the downtown tour with Emre and it was fantastic. A great taster of Zurich's history and culture. Emre was super knowledgeable, told interesting stories and kept a really large group engaged for the whole tour. He even timed it perfectly to end as the rain arrived! I'd highly recommend this tour and Emre as a wonderful guide

We attended the 11 o'clock Downtown Zurich tour in english with Joseph. He gave us lots of interesting anegdotes about the city and its history, as well as some tips as for where to eat in the city. I think the trip covers the essentials in the centre and I would recommend it to everyone visiting Zurich for the first time.

In Zurich, we enjoyed a wonderful, free walking tour (through the Office of Tourism) with Josef, a Swiss native. He did a great job of escorting us to various historic sites in the old city, entertained us with his sense of humor and great stories, and patiently engaged the entire (large) group of tourists from around the world. Heartily recommend this tour!

Staying in Zurich for a few days, we wanted to get a look at this city and it's place in Europe.

We met our guide Julian (Sorry if name is wrong!) at Parade Platz where he explained about the tour. We walked around for around 2 hours looking at many sights, mostly in the 'Allstad' part of town. Zurich is a city of contrasts between old and new and it's a very peaceful place especially for a city. The day we took the tour, the silence was broken by many sirens as there was an accident which a car landed in the river Limmat. We were told about Swiss politics/recycling/banking and general life as a citizen in this beautiful country.

Zurich is a town of many contrasts, but is definitely worth a look on your travels. Just remember your pennies as it's not cheap, but there are bargains to be found like eating at the Coop on Bahnhofstrasse, the most expensive shopping street in Europe. This was recommended by Julian by the way...

After participating in free walking tours in more than 30 cities around the world I would give the tour in Zürich an average rating in comparison.
Though our guide was nice and knowledgeable, I felt that we spent too much time walking and too little time talking and explaining. I didn’t really learn a lot about the history of the city and missed some suggestions about what to do during my stay. It surely didn’t help that there were more than 40 people on the tour - other companies use to split the group or limit the number of participants.

I went on a walking tour of Zurich in Spanish with Daniel and I learnt a lot and found the tour very entertaining. Daniel made the experience fun and was open to questions and to give extra info and tips of places to visit after the tour. I very much recommend this tour to get an overview of the main sites of the city and historical information.

We really booked last minute and Got great service both with organising the trip and with our guide. Prompt feedback on organising tour, accommodating the needs of our family (special chocolate stop for the kids) and arranging the meet-up. Our guide, Emre, was really good. He lived his whole life in Zürich, Was truly passionate about the city and its history and was really flexible trying to engage the kids, however difficult that may be. He was also very happy to talk about Himself and Switzerland more generally. Highly recommended.
