We were surprised about how much we could do and see around Lake Zurich, not having considered Zurich as a holiday base before, but it is a superb place to base your holiday in Switzerland we think! You can get to so many places by...More

A delightful short round trip on the Lake of Zürich ... The region of the Lake of Zürich was shaped by rivers and several Alpine glaciers jutting down here from the mountains about 14 to 18 million years ago. They carved the lake basin &...More

I took a lake cruise using my Swiss Pass. I just had to pay a five Franc service fee. It was pleasant but no commentary about what you were seeing. The views were nice but not as spectacular as those surrounding Lake Luzern.

Wandering along the banks of the lake there is an opportunity to see the picturesque countryside. There are stores along the banks and patrons can stop for a snack or coffee and continue walking. This is a nice stop to experience. Note - the option...More

I found the boat by accident after tripping around the city on the trams. Very glad to spend 90 minutes on the lake, soaking in the views and the calm, warm weather. Staff were helpful when buying the ticket for 13Euro. I didn't buy any...More

A chance to see some of the villas up the silver and golden coast of the lake Zurich and then the discovery of Rapperswil, too bad the rose garden wasn't in bloom.

Beautiful lake that offers numerous activities. Starting from Zurich Bürkliplatz one can take a ferry all the way down to Raperswil. There are many options to go bathing in summer. Sailing and rowing are also nice options.

We arrive 8am in Zurich. Our trip is to rent a car and travel - Munich ..Strasbourg..colmar..Evian les Bain's..Montreux.. return to Zurich to fly out. My question is if we spend that first day and night in Zurich , where should we stay and should we go back to airport to rent car. Ideally we would stay at same hotel at end of trip to return car to same location. Thank you for any advice

Zurich has well train connection but it is expensive. I think Oerlikon might be best option because it is middle of zurich center and airport station. It is one station from each. And close by to station there is a Marriott... More

There`s a place to lock away your suitcase at the Zürich Train Main station for a price if one wants to travel around the city before continuing on the journey.
