The Stadtgaertnerei re-opened in November after extensive, delayed renovations. The entrance is free. The main attraction here is the Palm house and the Sub-tropic house. There are also grounds and exterior gardens of nice green space, lots of trees, shrubs, benches and a nursery.
Inside the Palm house is an information desk, coat room, vending machines, clean restrooms, upstairs classrooms and a nice fish/turtle pond in the main lobby. One can traverse through the over-sized plants and palm trees. There are birds, a pond, two small viewing platforms and a small trail where you can walk down to the stream.
The Sub-tropic house is very nice. As soon as you walk through the doors, the first thing that you notice is the beautiful waterfall. There are hanging plants off the stairs and on the walls. One can walk the circular trail and see many blooming plants/flowers, a pond and other nice plants. A side hall also leads to a room of cactus.
The upgrades are very nice, but there still seems to be a lot of work in progress in addition to them getting ready for their upcoming holiday display.
Most of the staff I had contact with were very friendly.

Nice Palm house with a tucan flying around. Free entrance, limited opening hours.

it the gardeners/gardening center of the city of Zurich. There is a tropical house and a palmgarden, nice birds, fishes and turtles. Currently there is a show about urban gardening.
In the summer there is a nice park outside as well.
In spring on specific weekend Stadtgaertnerei sells seedling including some rare or rediscovered plants/vegetables. Entrance is free

There is a small place, with which you can only lose your time. There is nothing to see.

Stadtgärtnerei (city’s gardens) has a nice greenhouse and changing exhibitions. It’s free. They sell herbs :-). I must come back to find the bird house:-).

Stadtgaertnerei is a beautiful park and botanic garden which includes an outdoor area and tropical glass houses. The place is free to visit and it seems to be off the beaten tourist track so highly recommended for park and nature lovers.

The newly renovated Palm- and tropical house are lovely. And the entrance is free of charge. Also restrooms and lockers are provided.
