Located inside the Zurich main train station the clerks spoke excellent English and were able to explain transit and tour options. They are a resource for maps and tour information. I visited 2 or 3 times with questions.

Constrained by weather and time of year, sometimes doing the things you really want to do just isn't possible. So you rely heavily on the staff at the tourist centre to be able to find the compromise that suits. We can't complain at the bus trip with lake cruise that was found for us - we really enjoyed it!

My husband and I were given various options to tour the city which we followed, and enjoyed every spot!
The tourist office rep, an experienced guy (sorry we didn't pay attention to his name) was so attentive! He opened the city map and showed us places of interest. He was asking a lot of questions in order to accommodate our needs the most possible way and it sure helped! For example, we wanted to taste traditional local food - thanks to his recommendation we enjoyed the place and the food.
Additionally, we asked info about outer Zurich, places to explore the nature. He has equipped us with a bigger map of the area and some info about other cantons, where to see special places, more country side. I appreciated his help!

Hats off to our tour guide for showing us Zurich in the cold weather. I am over happy with it. But this tour could be better if she has some sort of voice amplifier. It was a large group with 20 people or so, sometimes it's hard to follow the tour guide around and hear her clearly.

The Lucerne Tourist Information Centre is a bit hidden in the train station, there on the last platform and is small, enter the platform and walk through it you will find. In the center, ask for a map with tips for visiting the city, you will be surprised how it will help you get around the city, especially if you are on a round trip from Zurich.
They are very patient and still you can buy a last minute souvenir.
The only note is that they close at 5:00, I think it would be important to stay at least until 6:00.

Day 1:
We reached Zurich from Paris through train at about 11:00 am.
Checked into our hotel by 12:30 and then went to go for 1.5 hours Zurich Lake cruise from Burkliplatz. We had taken Zurich card for the day and this trip was included in the card. After the lake cruise we went for Cable car ride to LAF from Adliswil station. Both the activities turned out to be great and our 3 year old daughter enjoyed a lot too.
Day 2:
We went to Jungfrau. Took train from Zurich to Bern-Interlaken-Grindelwald-Kleine Schidegg-Jungfrau and came back from the side of Lauterbrunnen. Some people had adviced us against this trip due to long train journeys, but since we were visiting Switzerland for the first time, it was a good opportunity to see the sceneries from the different trains. There's nothing much to do at Jungfrau just see the views that takes about 10 minutes. Personally, I feel that the trip is extremely over-priced (even after getting swiss pass discount). The ice palace is quite lame with a few old ice sculptures and over crowded, so you can't even take a few good snaps. The food is expensive too (of course). The sight of the glaciar is a good one though. I felt somewhat lightheaded and dizzy while I was at the top and my husband felt the same, so had to take some rest and do deep breathing.
Day 3:
We went to Rhine water falls. Took train from Zurich HB to Schloss Laufen. The falls are not high at all, but still worth visiting. The views are good, and we walked around the falls and along the river to reach the Neuhaussen station to catch the train back to Zurich (with a change at Winterthur). We did not do the boat trip in the river as we did not want to get wet. The walk along the bridge and river to reach Neuhassen is great.
After reaching Zurich HB, we went to Uteliberg through train S10. Walked till Uto Kulm at Utelierg and let our daughter play at some of the swings there and went back to the hotel. The views from the top are good and you can see multiple layers of mountains and the tip of the Alps in the sky.
Day 4:
We went to Lucerne and Mt. Titlis. Took a train from Zurich HB to Lucerne and then to Engelberg for Titlis Rotair. Our daughter enjoyed this trip a lot, with multiple types of cable cars, ice flyer, more activities, and chance to play in the snow. We came down to Engelberg and then went on to Lucerne and spent the evening there, following the tourist walking route. Then went back to Zurich.
Day 5:
We were quite confused about what to do on this day as we wanted to let our daughter enjoy. So we went to Berne and took tram to reach GurtenBhan from where we took furnicualr to reach Gurten. There are many games and small train for kids. My daughter had great fun there and didn't want to come back. It's a good place for little kids. We walked in the park, ate apples from the apple trees, and then came down and strolled through Berne old town till the Bear park. We had thought of going to Interlaken too on this day, but since we spent a lot more time at Gurten, we dropped that idea.
Day 6:
We checked out of the hotel and deposited our big suitcase at Zurich HB for 10 CHF and then did the Zurich old town walk with the tourist map. Followed Limmatquai till Burkliplatz and then came back through Bhanofstrasse. Then we took our train back to Paris at 3:00 pm.
Switzerland is a great place. Totally accessible and super efficient local transport system. We didn't get tired on any of the days as we got ample rests during the train travels. We took the Swiss Pass for the middle four days and Zurich card for the first day.
Food is extremely expensive everywhere, so to save some money, we bought drinks, sandwiches and salads from Coop every morning and took along with us. Where ever we went, we bought one hot snack and coffee and had it along with our packed lunch. This way we could spend more on having dinner!

Can I leave my luggage at Zurich airport? What are the charges? Any other tips?

Thank you for your request.
You can leave your luggage at the Zurich Airport. There are different size of lockers. The price starts from 5.00 CHF.
I recommend you to contact directly the Zurich Airport, if you need an exact price.
We wish you already a great time in Zurich.

I have one full day and a half for Zurich's stay. I intend to cover Zurich Lake (boat ride), Zurich Opera House, FIFA Football Museum, Swiss National Museum, Linderhof Hill and lastly Old Town.
Can you take the trouble to help me to plan the places mentioned therein? I believe ZURICH Card would be immensely helpful to cover the cost of travel as well as to cover entry fees to those places of interest.
Written July 22, 2019
Hi there, thanks for contacting Zürich Tourism. I think Zurich Card is for sure a very good option for your plans. You'll have public transport (incl. boat trip), FIFA Museum, Swiss National Museum & Opera House included. There is a 24h or 72h card, although I think the 24h card should be enough for your stay.
Hope that helps. Please get back to us if you have further questions.
All the best,
Silvan, Zürich Tourism

I will be working in Zurich for a week by myself and have Saturday and Sunday off (July 13th/14th) what would be the best day trip or train somewhere to see the most and make use of my time. Female travelling alone so a little nervous about safety!
Written July 8, 2019
I am female and I traveled alone. Did not have any safety concerns at all. I took the tram to Hauptbanhoff which is a big train station in downtown Zurich. I did the Old Town Walking Tour which was fun. The weekend is really busy. So be prepared for large crowds. I also took the coach to Brunnen a small village in the countryside. Stunningly beautiful. Whatever you do, I’m sure you’ll enjoy your time in Zurich. I’m going back in October so.... Hope this helps

Please give us info about Zurich Fest 2019. Ends up we will be there at that time. Are tickets required? Where is it? Our hotel is the Renaissance Zurich Tower...is this close by? All the websites I have found are in German. Thank you.
Written June 7, 2019
Hi Alice. Zurich Fest will be in the area around Bürkliplatz, Bellevue & Limmatquai. Admission is free. From Renaissance Tower, you best take tram Nr. 4 to the Main Station, from there it is a mere 5 mins walk to the festival area (you can't miss it, really). Hope that helps, otherwise please get back to us.
Sincerely, Silvan, Zürich Tourism

Hello, we are travelling to Zurich this July and have 2 young children with us, 8months and 3 years - are there any activities or attractions suitable?
We'd also like to go for a walk and experience beautiful landscapes on one of the many trails.. is there some that are shorter in distance and easy to walk (maybe even push a pram?)
We are staying in Niederdorf, Mühlegasse.

I am needing some help in deciding what sort of travel pass both my husband and I need for our stay soon. We will be transported by prepaid bus from Basel/River Cruise termination to Zurich Airport and from there we will need to find our way to Grindelwald on the afternoon of June 14 th. We will stay in Grindelwald for three nights, then return to pre booked accomodation in Zurich on Saturday 17 th June, then the following morning will need to leave for flights at the airport late morning. I'm looking at what tours or tourist sights are also covered by the rail passes. Would you recommend a train trip back to Interlaken one day for more detailed sightseeing? Thank you
