Our short boat tour started here. The excursion was reasonably priced and very enjoyable. They served food and drinks on the boat if you wanted to purchase anything. We enjoyed a lovely boat ride along the lake and a glass of wine.

Buerkliplatz is a Square in Zurich, which is located at the junction of Limmat River and Lake Zurich. It is arguably the best spot for clicking photos of Lake Zurich. Several cruises are available for cruising on Lake Zurich at this Square. Worth visiting.

If you are near the train station, it is just 10 minutes walk from there. There are trams too. It is a nice place for enjoying in the evenings. If you have Zurich card or day pass, you can use boats for free

On a fine, sunny day it's a treat to relax on the ferry and criss-cross the Zurich See in comfort.
We chose the short tour (90 minutes) as this was included on our 3-day travel pass.
Refreshments are available on the boat, but they're pricey so we had our snack and drink with us.

Most likely best place for shopping in Zurich. Swiss is a costly place but this place offer some amazing items at better prices...

Was here for New Year's Eve. We were in a VIP tent but thank goodness the weather was good enough to be outside. We were a little confused when just a few fireworks went off at midnight but the real show started at 12:30 and was fantastic!

There is a twice weekly farmers market here. Great produce and flowers. Very crowded and vibrant during the market. Lovely views of the lake and river from this area.

My wife and I were at the Saturday flea market here two weekends in a row. The first Saturday it had been raining all morning, lightened up and then got windy and very cold. It seemed like all the vendors who could be there didn't show up, but it was still a lot of fun. They had a lot more accordions and harmonicas than I expected (seeing almost none at flea markets in America), as well as many vendors with just used clothes and standard boot sale items. That said, there were a handful of vendors with really nice antiques to keep it interesting - sterling, jewelry, hotel silver, and Vienna Bronzes. More dealers showed up the second weekend when it was warmer - but a lot more rain.
The prices were - fair to. . . fair for Zurich (meaning a bit more expensive than expected). That said, if you spend $10 more for something that will always remind you of your trip to Switzerland, it's worth it. You probably aren't going to walk off with some great find for 5 CHF, but you will have fun looking.
The bratwurst there also needs some credit. Get it on a baguette with the spicy carrot slaw. Do dang yummy!

During a previous stay in Zurich, we had visited the large Saturday flea market which is conducted in Buerkliplatz. It just so happened that we were in Zurich on a Saturday again, during our most recent visit. Therefore, we decided to spend some time at the market again, to see if there were any items which we may like to purchase.
Just as was the case during our previous visit, the market was busy with shoppers. There was a remarkable range of goods, both new and second-hand for sale.
We managed to make a couple of purchases and enjoyed our time wandering among the varied stalls. Worth a visit if you are a keen shopper and happen to be in Zurich on a Saturday morning. Many of the stalls begin to pack up in the early afternoon.

It has farmers market every Tue and Fri, many flowers and other plants, fresh and/or organic produces, jams, sausages and fresh meats, fish, cheese, and breads to choose from. It opens from 6am to 6pm. I like the bread booth owned by an old lady the most. It lists out all the ingredients (all organic). The best seller is Dinkelgipfel (Spelt Swiss Classic Croissant), and the Zopf (looks like a ponytail, also a Swiss classic) also tastes good!! These two are egg-free. There is also a meat booth (the biggest one in the market) that sells great sausages and meat. For this one, I recommend Wildschwein Wurst (Wild pork sausage). Price of the same product might have different prices in different booths.
*****On Saturday it has a flea market and jazz performance occasionally.

How do I walk to the flea market at Buerkliplatz on Saturday , from the main railway station in Zurich ?
Written July 1, 2015
Einfach geradeaus die Bahnhofstrasse. Diese verbindet den Bahnhof und den See/Bürkliplatz direkt miteinander.
