Heidiland and Liechtenstein Tour from Zurich: Two Countries in One Day

1,000 reviews
If you want to visit "Heidiland" but don’t know the best way to get there, this day trip from Zurich is the ticket. You’ll visit the village of Maienfeld, where the beloved Heidi books were set, and spend time in Zurich and Vaduz, the capital of Liechtenstein, too. It’s the perfect way to learn the region’s history and culture while following in the footsteps of Heidi in the Swiss mountains.

Barfussbar is located within the Frauenbad Stadthausquai which, open for swimming everyday from 11th May to 15th Sept 11am-7:30pm, is an art nouveau open-air historical 1888 timber public bath, part of the Seeuferanlage promenade, dedicated solely to women swimming; On three evenings a week (Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday) the bathing facility opens its doors to men as well for Barfussbar lounge/electronic music live, romantic and chilled concerts from 20 to 0:30; Barfussbar sells snacks and beverages; My choice: Stadt Zürich Rosé AOC, Pinot Noir, 1dl glass, 8 CHF;

Romantic, unusual, old Victorian style lido. Ladies only swimming and relaxing area by day. By night elegant and special place. Good for a date and also to impress your friends. No rowdy groups, no small children... you can sip on your drinks and dangle your feet in the river... views of Grossmünster and Fraumünster....nice way to start or end the evening. Shoes off as you enter. Queuing for drinks can take a while, tables limited but cushions provided for those sitting on the boardwalk. Definitely a place to stop for a drink from 8pm.

A very nice place, on Wednesday always good music and relaxed atmosphere. Only downside is the fact that there is 1,5 Bar and getting drinks takes a bit too long.

Perfect spot to feel yourself like on holiday in the very center of the city! Relaxed atmosphere and "bare-foot" dress code( though we can keep your shoes if you wish), live music...And the best views of Limmat river and Grossmünster.

What a good idea to transform the so typical swimming pool only for ladies into a bare foot bar three nights a week during the warm season. One night is a bar, then another night it has live music and finally on Sundays it is the dancing night with a DJ. Drinks and foods are very basic, prices are expensive and the bad point is the entrance fee of CHF 15 per person. We cannot still understand why entrance fee is as high as in a standard discotheque ! It is a real cash machine for the owner. Tip: it opens at 20:00 but plenty of people queue there at least half an hour before. Check who is the DJ before going, music can turn to be weird, and also check who queues.
