The most happening place in all of Zurich. This place is located right on the heart of the city and was simply a treat to the eye at night. We stopped here for a quick photo session on our way back to hotel in our tour bus. The place was amazingly lit and had a row of pubs and restaurants with enthusiastic youths enjoying a summer evening. The opera house looked beautifule from here.

Bellevue square is the square beside the Sechselautenplatz, is dominated by the tram station and from here begin the bellevue promenade on the lake.
Many reviewers wrote that the Bellevue Square is dominated by Opera House not knowing that the Opera House is in Sechselautenplatz

Bellevue Square in Zurich is easily accessible by public transportation. It is quite impressive and located in front of the Opera House. It is a great place for clicking pics. Certainly recommend visiting same.

Bellevue Square opposite the Globus Bellevue is the location of one of the biggest Christmas markets of Zuerich. A wide choice of streetfood is on offer from all places over the world, including of course Swiss. We particularly enjoyed the Peruvian Burgers and the Swiss Sausages. And glad to see the Dutch cheese and poffertjes!

Don't pay attention to the blind cranks who say it is only a tram stop - it takes you right to Lake Zurich for those who want to see it. It is a great place to walk around - lots of people watching opportunities. It is sort of like a street fair atmosphere. You can also catch a boat to take a tour around the Lake or rent paddle boats and take your own tour. And there is a giant Ferris Wheel from which you can get great views! I think this is a great place to take your kids for a play day.

Of course, as always, there is also good food, shopping, and cafes to stop and have a glass of wine.

enjoy the Bellevue in Zürich, try a "Bratwurst" at the "Vorderer Sternen", that is what people from Zürich do, after visiting the opera. Then walk accross the "Quai-Brücke", enjoy the view on the lake and walk op the "Bahnhofstrasse" or walk from Bellevue along the lake to the "Zürichhorn".

It's a contemporary open space urban environment and that's about it ... you can grab a chair and sit and enjoy the view alone or with a friend. The lake is near by so you can go see it and enjoy the fresh air. The opera house is small but lively and worth to take a look at the facade !

A real gem of a spot in the city. I often stop by Bellevue just about every chance I get, whether it's for lunch at Globus, ice cream at Movenpick, a cup of coffee at Starbucks, grabbing a quick bratwurst at Sternen Grill, or just strolling along the waterfront feeding the beautiful white swans that are always lingering around the water's edge.

The splash water fountain in the square attracts lots of little children running through it during those warm sunny days while tourists, students, bankers, men and women, young and old, lounge around the grounds of the open square soaking up the sun, eating, drinking, chatting, napping. The Opera House and Lake Zurich in the back drop is always a pleasant sight.

Just be careful when you cross the street. There are trams, buses, cars, bicycles all comin' at ya from all directions. Yet I always manage to find peace and relaxation amongst the hustle and bustle of this major public transportation hub.

The Bellvue is the ideal place to start sight seeing in Zurich. Not only that you have a great view over the Lake of Zurich and the Swiss Alps, but you can easy reach further great places like Bahnhofstrasse, Bürkliplatz, Niederdorf or Limmatquai. When you are in Zurich, this is definitely a must .... also a lot of restaurants and shops are around here. So .... don't miss it.
