Heidiland and Liechtenstein Tour from Zurich: Two Countries in One Day

1,000 reviews
If you want to visit "Heidiland" but don’t know the best way to get there, this day trip from Zurich is the ticket. You’ll visit the village of Maienfeld, where the beloved Heidi books were set, and spend time in Zurich and Vaduz, the capital of Liechtenstein, too. It’s the perfect way to learn the region’s history and culture while following in the footsteps of Heidi in the Swiss mountains.

This is a small museum. It has dolls and metal soldiers for kids with more than 100 years history. They are very well preserved and worth to spend an hour. On the other hand, how exciting you feel depend on your childhood.

This museum is very small, but non the worse for that. It has an extensive collection, in the main of dolls, cars and trains. I was fortunate to visit when the proprietor was there, who was friendly and knowledgeable about the exhibits. You can spend an enjoyable 30 - 60 mins there. It is accessible via a small 2 person lift or a walk up 5 floors.

We enjoyed this place as much as our 5 & 8 years old children did. Small and quite tight place but has a lot of good & nice things on it. Entry fee is a good value for money.😊👍

Toy museum is small place, but with so many toys from different periods of time. Collection is really great, and exciting for collectionars and all people that love toys. The custos is friendly and helpful, and I heard many interesting information of toy's history.

We heard about this from other tourers and hunted it up in Old Town Zurich. Well worth it. You have to climb some stairs to get to it. There is a lift but not great for wheelchairs. The museum itself is too tight for a wheelchair to maneuver. The owner was there that day. She said she inherited the collection and museum from her grandfather. Whe really didn't want it, but she didn't want to see the collection sold off. So she became the curator. There are many dolls and doll miniatures, a few trains and many, many other playthings of all kinds and ages. It is not large. The toys are easy to see behind floor to ceiling glass. Kids of all ages will like this, adults too. Many memories.
