My friends were recouping from NYE while I ventured on my own. The museum was free NYD but someone said it's free on Wednesdays. The permanent art was free but the visiting pieces were not. Picasso and Andy Worhol were in same exhibit and cost 16Fr, but the girl at front desk said there is only 1 piece of Picasso to see, so I decided to skip the paying exhibit and see the free 1st and 2nd floors. I've spent a lot of time in many museums across Europe and I spent about 1 hour looking around. There is a cafe there if you need a small break afterward, a small gift shop and a free locker room for your coats and bags. You pick a locker with a numbered key and lock it, place the key in a safe pocket, then return the key for your things later. Was very convenient.

Visited on a Wednesday and entrance was free, but if not visiting on a Wednesday still worth the admission. Changing special exhibits and many works of famous masters. The museum is very well organized with interesting architecture. Should not be missed if visiting Zurich.

We were lucky that the day we were there that it was free. Just showed our Green Pass along with our passport and wandered off. Depending on where we were, we needed to show our free ticket again which was no big deal. We were advised that this would occur and to just hang on to our tickets. We just walked from place to place getting lost on purpose and just enjoyed the ride. Ended our visit to see the Impressionists including Monet, Van Gogh etc. It is not at the level of other museums of art like the Musee d'Orsay so you just have to expectations for such. It was still a great visit and worth the time. Very easy to reach via tram. Enjoy.

For living in the city, this was only the second time I'd been to the Kunsthaus. Discovered many works by Swiss artists, but also Swiss artists I didn't know.
Currently, you can visit the still empty new building, with an installation by William Forsythe, 8 former church bells sound the otherwise empty rooms. The extension of the Kunsthaus is a success. I look forward to the exhibitions in the generously sized rooms. The new building will be opened as part of the museum in autumn 2021.

What a beautiful museum! Not only is the permanent collection full of interesting pieces, but the audioguide & blurbs on the walls are full of great info to understand the art work & it’s context. From the inspiring Old masters to the interesting Pop Art pieces it’s enough to keep you dazzled for an afternoon. My favorite was the comprehensive display of Giacometti’s artwork.

We spent our last afternoon of a long trip here and we especially enjoyed the work of the old masters. Though we spent over 3 hours we could only cover one section. We will visit to explore other sections if we travel to the city again .

We were very impressed by the permanent collection of masters including Picasso, Monet and Van Gogh, as well as the temporary exhibition by Olafur Eliasson. This Icelandic artist created an extremely memorable interactive exhibition with lasers, smoke and prisms. Entering the smoke and laser exhibit felt like you were underwater. The artist's goal to influence people's attitude towards climate change through art was brilliantly executed ! This art museum was a highlight of Zurich.

This museum has a great collection. As well as having a good survey of western art, it has in depth collections of Munch, Alberto Giacometti and the Giacometti family, and of Swiss artists. Especially noticeable were the works of Ferdinand Hodler. There is a very nice Monet Water Lilies. A great museum to visit.

This time we only visited the Olafur Eliasson show. Superb. In the past we have visited the rich permanent collections many times. The special exhibits are always strongly curated and elaborate it mounted.
