I've been a long term customer of Jelmoli's. And you pretty much always find what you're looking for. If not, most of the employees are friendly enough to look the item up and see if they can order it for you. Else, they have good recommendations. Some of the staff have a bit of an elitist vibe, ignore that/them and go for the younger ones.

Some stores are really crowded.

Absolutely love the food department! You'll find many international specialties, you don't usually find in Swiss stores.

Prices tend to be higher than in other stores. But you pay for the service and location.

They have an excellent choice. Overall the goods are of high quality. When it comes to staff, some of them are really qualified, kind and service-oriented, others, I am afraid, lack these qualities, which makes shopping, given the prices, a real challenge. I will give it another go though.

Innovative track layout for the bib pick up towards the Zurich Marathon made it an interesting experience. A nice balance of variety in terms of sportswear and accessories while not being overwhelming. All major brands available. The staff was wonderfully attentive and knowledgeable while being respectful of the shoppers’ sense of space.
Enjoyed shopping here.

I am an expat, and I live in Zürich. I went shopping here last Saturday (Feb 4th), and went to the women's clothing department on the first floor. I have shopped here before and thought the customer service was bad, but this visit topped the lot. I wanted to try on a pair of trousers, so I asked if I could use the fitting room, and I was looked at by an assistant with a hostile frown, and she nodded towards the rooms. I did not have my bag or coat, because my husband was sitting in a chair nearby watching our things. I went into the fitting room, slipped off my own trousers, and tried on the new ones. They didn't fit, so I took them off. I was standing in my panties, when she opened the curtain, without asking, looked at me and said "okay, or not okay". I said "not okay" so she walked in, took them from the hook on the wall, and then walked out again, without closing the curtain. I was astonished. I asked her, "Please close the curtain", so she made a huffing noise, whipped it closed and went off. I was very upset. I got the feeling that she thought I might make off with the trousers. I have never been treated this way before in a store. When I asked for the store floor manager, she was not available, and I gave my details, but I have not heard a thing. DO NOT SHOP HERE!

Jelmoli is located on famous Bahnhofstrasse street just 5 minutes walk from station. It is the oldest department store in Switzerland. They keep all the branded stuff in fashion, perfume, home products and sport for men, women and children. Their food market located in basement is also very popular. The staff was very helpful. it was expensive but that's how Zurich is.

We had been on a shopping expedition along Zurich's premier shopping street, Bahnhofstrasse when we came upon this department store. Having not visited it before, we decided to pop in and take a look.
It soon became fairly obvious that their merchandise was aimed at the upmarket shopper. The goods were of a very good quality and they were priced accordingly. We soon discovered that there was little of interest for us, in this relatively small department store and consequently, we only stayed there for a short time.
The store is well-appointed and well laid out. However it may only be of interest to you if you are a keen shopper with lots of money to spend!

My friend Geronimo took me for lunch to Jelmoli. For the last 22 years travelling to Zurich it had never occurred to me to eat there. It so happens that on any given weekday at lunch time you will find the restaurant almost full. We ate the most incredible ravioli I have ever had. A true surprise. If in Zurich don't doubt to combine some shopping along with a wonderful para lunch at Jelmoli in the heart of Zurich.

A very upmarket department store. A great place to look for brand labels. A big food hall in the basement where you can have lunch or a coffee..
The sports floor is very good with a lot of choice.
We always enjoy shopping here.

I've mixed emotions about this place as it's a shiny and well design department store but only for top brands so due to the very high prices for most of the common peoples this place is more like a museum than a shopping place...
