We went to Winterthur for the museums (particularly the Oskar Reinhardt Villa) and stayed for the shopping! Unlike Zurich the lower rents means lots of independent shops can operate, with unique, local handmade products. We bought lovely artesan souvenirs in the Art & Craft shop...More

Nice place to walk around. Suggested to enter to side streets too. Big choice of shops with the Switzerland touch. Suggested to stop for a cafe to feel the atmosphere

I just like to have a walk, a coffee or just to 'waist' my time her occasionally. I usually park my car at the train station, or if I want to have next to Park Hotel.

Like all the little towns in Switzerland, this also has the medieval feeling to it. We were there on the swiss national day, so everywhere was closed except for some restaurants. Overall, i think it would be a busy area during normal days.

the christmas market makes the Marktgasse to one of the prettiest places to be in the area! I can only recommend a visit!
