If you have an hour or two to spare in Zug, check out the lake and valley views from the top of Zugerberg, take a short walk through the woods, and enjoy the sounds of bells from the cows grazing the surrounding pastures.
The trip up the mountain is fast and efficient, and the starting point can be reached by Bus or private car. There is parking available. The tariffs are not excessive although the ticket for the dog was the same price as for ourselves!

I went here and it was a nice and comfortable ride. Also it was cool riding up the mountain and a great view.
If there is snow you can rend sledges and ride down the mountain, unfortunately there was no snow when we were here.
Nice ride to the top of Zugerberg. Good views on a clear day from the railway and from the top. Lovely hikes through woodlands in both summer and winter. The cows in their bells are lovely to see in summer.
These are nice walks, all connected and well represented in a map available at the info point. It's very near home so it's easy, but it's not special as compared with other mountains and railways nearby (see the Jungfrau region for that!).
