Our hotel suggested that we make a visit. We had tasted the white wines at our hotel (Golf Hotel Rene Capt). We walked to the tasting room after we spent a great 2 Hour lunch cruise on the Italia on Lake Geneva. The server at the winery did not speak fluent English, but she worked with us showing the types of wine they offer. The wines (especially their whites) were good and not very expensive. (CH 15 per bottle).

When you are in the VAUD area of Switzerland, it feel like every unused piece of ground on any hill has grape vines planted. Seeing this, I had to try some of the wine, so the closest winery to my hotel was La Cave Vevey-Montreux. I went on a Saturday morning around 11 am and there was a few people still there, they close at noon. There was a nice selection of whites, rose, and reds to choose and hey were happy to let you try as many as you wanted. Very polite, and they spoke English, French and German. Worth a visit, good prices in comparison to the local stores.
