To be honest, this museum is out of the way and too small to be of interest to most tourists. It's a neat little place but more useful to local families and schools. If you happen to be nearby I wouldn't call it a waste of time to look around for an hour or so. Just don't expect it to... More

This museum stays right on the way from the bus stop at Bois de Vaux in the direction down to the roman ruins by the lake. Better just head straight to the ruins, for the museum is quite small and unattractive for its price. They have a limited stock of materials in display with nothing impressive, and most of the... Went for a walk around the ruins, have been to a few sites with roman archaeological remains before and this one was just a bit too ordered and samey, not really convinced that the remains haven't been interfered with in modern times and some concrete and pebbles added for better effect!

Not a real special one, just a fine roman museum for people that are not used to it. One visit it's worth (and enough).

Really crowded when I went there, it was the special museum day in Lausanne. Small museum, not very amazing. Temporary expo, terrible for me. It was an indoor labyrinth with kids screaming and running everywhere and no space to breath. Beware claustrophobics!

A Roman presence in Lausanne may come as a surprise, but it was an important location during the Roman empire. Vidy was an important port, as the museum relates, and trading centre on a major route North. I got more of a feeling for how things probably were by walking around the old port (now set some back from the... More
