What makes this train museum stand out from many other that I've visited is the way we got to and from the actual museum and the amazing volunteers. The old Bernise tram that got us there from Chamby and the steam engine that brought us to the Blonay station were a treat to ride. The museum itself has a representative... More

This is exclusively a metre gauge railway museum. We visited the railway museum on a Sunday and caught the 11.05 steam train from Blonay up to the museum with 3 carriages and a full load of passengers. The service was used by some locals to reach an intermediate stop on an uphill incline - the engine got going again with... More

Althought was rainy day we spent an amazing time. The train trip to the museum has very beautiful views to the lake and the countryside and visiting the museum is the cherry on the top of the cake. Very nice and helpful staff. We bought the ticket train+museum and we were allowed to travel up and down in all the... More

We visited the line for the 'Valais en Fete' weekend this year, and were bowled over by the effort that the staff and volunteers had put into making the day so enjoyable. Not only did they bring out different stock for every scheduled trip, including a beuatiful salon bar car from 1904, but there were local specialities such as fruit tarts... More

This is not just static exhibits, but real Swiss trains running on a scenic track above Lake Geneva, with superb views, the best are from Chamby station. You can take pictures, wander across the tracks (within reason), children and adults can climb aboard the engines at the stops. Relaxed atmosphere at the stations and in the museum. It is also... This train ride is something you everyone should do and see for the beauty of the scenery and being able to open your windows and take photos of all that you come upon. The tunnels and the bridges are what Switzerland is all about and that is what this train represents.

This is a living narrow gauge museum featuring operating restored steam locomotives and electric trams. Buy tickets on the platform of Blonay station, admission CHF 20, and the train takes you to the museum. There is plenty of parking near Bloany station, cost is CHF 0.50 per hour, however no parking near the museum itself. Trip from Blonay to the... More

To ride the Blonay train is the way to get a view from high above lake Geneva. It is a spectacular panoramic view of the French Savoy Alps with the lake and vineyards below. Good hiking trails if you opt to walk down from to top.

Thumbs up to all volunteer who keeps the old trains run smoothly. The view is amazing, it is one of a kind experience to take a steam train. I was lucky to catch both steam and electric train. It is a must ride for those who travel from a far like me.

Part of the fun in travelling on this railway is actually getting there; we travelled up from Vevey to Blonay on the very steep tram (reductions for hotel area card passes), climbing up high above Lake Geneva. Although there was a special event the following day, all of the staff we met took the time to chat, provide background information,... More
