The outside terrace is great. At the end of the afternoon you can enjoy the garden, the sun, the lake and the mountains in the background.
People are nice and the food is also well prepared. I had a good pumpkin soup and a top cordon bleu. I think there could have been more vegetables with the meat. For the rest very good

A large park around the Tribunal Fédéral with plenty of grass for picnics or sunbathing, children's play area, fountains, sculpture, restaurants, and great views of the lake. It's after the big hotel Lausanne Palace when walking from St-François, and above a large car park. The Supreme Court building was designed by Benjamin Recordon and incorportes many kinds of stone quarried in Switzerland. In front is a statue of William Tell, and a couple of smaller ones by local artist Nikola Zaric whose sculptures combining humans and animals can be seen around town. Also in the area, at the southern end of Pont Chauderon (bridge) and close to the Cécil bus stop is a small sculpture park for children, with 18 "stations", bronze sculptures with texts recounting a legend (in French): Latin alphabet on one page and braille opposite (parc des légendes).

A must visit hotspot in Lausanne. It is very easy to anscend and take photos of the town and the lake from a high hill a few minutes walking from the central gare. Do not miss it, I highly recommend it!

My average score reflects the fact that it was raining on the morning of our visit and the lake was covered in mist. As this is a viewing area not much could be seen. On a dry day I guess the views are stunning. The viewpoint is located in a small pleasant park.

You want a great view? Go to Lavaux instead (Train to Cully and walk up)!

If you NEED to stay in Lausanne, they Montbenon is nice for a picnic, or a little walk. The view is really great, but really, take a little more time and go to Lavaux vineyards and the view is 10x better

Also, you cant really buy snacks around Montbenon either...

This garden offers one of the best view on the lake in town and it is just closby to Brasserie de Montbenon so the best is to enjoy it when taking your dinner there. It is most impressive at night with all the lights from Evian shining.

This parc in the middle of the city, in front of the cantonal Tribunal, offers an amazing view of Lausanne and the lake. Go there during the day, at night it is not a great spot, teenagers hang around drinking booze.

Situated in the middle of Lausanne close to the casino de Montbenon. The view is fantastic and in the casino itself you can have a good lunch or dinner and they have a terrace with a brilliant view.
